FYI. A FYI for those with screen freezing problems. Purchased a new 2017 Fusion Platinum 31 months ago. Low mileage driver with 16,000 miles. Do love the car. A month ago, my screen started freezing. Affected Nav, radio, phone, park assist, all screen dependent functions. Was drivable and always started. Brought to the dealer last week. In for 5 days, they gave me a loaner. Thorough diagnostic testing. Identified a somewhat known problem. The APIM module had to be ordered and replaced. In warranty. Otherwise an expensive repair. Works like new now. I’m glad I took the Ford 7 year top of the line warranty. So much technology to go wrong. Can’t emphasize enough how much I love this car. Platinum is pure luxury, and fun to drive. Would highly recommend this model if you get a comprehensive extended warranty. As this car becomes older, and not worth expensive screen repairs, it probably would continue to be a good basic drivable car. Try to find a Platinum model. It’s a Lincoln with Ford Badging. The MSRP of mine was over $ 41,000. Has every option except inflatable rear seat belts. AWD, adaptable cruise control, parallel parks within 6 inches of the curb every time.

You do great reviews! I think Ford has really excelled! It has taken an almost basic car and made it incredible! Ford is showing foreign automakers that it's capable of holding it's own!
Apple is nothing to do with this. Just to point out, you said..... "Ford is showing FOREiGN automakers that it's capable of holding it's own!". By that, did you mean by sending it production assembly to foreign lands (e.g. MEXICO) or by designing a good quality and reliable product?
I was referring to the original comment (by pineapple) and you made a comment to my comment. OK, I was incorrect by implying that you actually said that but you joined the discussion and (perhaps) agreed with the original comment. Btw, I actually have put one on order (assembled in Hermosillo), so I have no problem with buying from overseas. I just wanted to make readers and the originator of the comment, aware that his/her statement was 'misleading'. It's a free country and you can chose what (and from where) you buy your stuff - but I fear and object, when being mislead.
Joe P I wasn't agreeing with the original poster. All I said was, "who cares?" Who cares where they're assembled. I'm just tired of people saying that they're not going to buy the car because it was assembled in Mexico. If you don't want to buy it, just stfu. (Not saying that you said, either) Good 👍 hope you like it! I bought mine 2 days ago and I'm loving it.
Ford needs to spend more time on quality control of their engines than on styling and tech. I have a 2013 ford escape, no issues at 31,000 miles, thankfully, but mechanics are always telling me Ford CHEAPS OUT on engine protection (plastic material) which leads to breakdowns. Toyota has very little to impress inside but their engines are protected and tuned to the hilt. I'm very nervous about what will happen to my Ford between 50K and 100K miles.
j.d. r. As long as you do the regular maintenance, you shouldn't have much to worry about. I have a 2013 Fusion with the 2.0L Turbo engine and it currently has 63,000 miles on it. So far, so good. I believe the Fusion and Escape use the same engines, so don't worry. Take care of your car and it will take care of you.
j.d. r. I had a 2012 Ford Fusion and I traded it in after 71K miles for a 2017 Ford Fusion. Loving it so far! Got it yesterday. Never had a problem with mine. It all depends on how you treat your car.
Interior beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally like the interior, it's simple and understated. All 4 windows are actually one-touch up/down with global open from the remote available in the cars trip computer options (defaults to on). I have a 15, and it's pretty easy to see out of, as non BLIS equipped models have standard Blind-spot mirrors. My question is again going to come down to longterm reliability of the ecoboost engine line-up, which tends to have issues with excessive carbon build-up. To those saying 37 is expensive for a Ford, consider what you are getting at that price concerning safety tech. Personally I would go Legacy for safety tech, as it is cheaper, has standard all wheel drive, and available across more of their lineup, without fully optioning out a car. Sure you don't get the the powertrain options and performance, but you get better fuel economy. My 15 Fusion is going lemon law this week, and I will honestly have mixed feelings seeing it go.
I agree, I think the price is class competitive especially considering the content. As long as reliability is up it makes for a great buy. I personally am tainted by an experience owning a '10. I swore I would never purchase a Ford again
+Ryan Slemmer I hear ya. I'm wanting an Optima next. My sister has a 15 and I love it. But Im waiting, in hopes that they will return the fog lights on the next refresh..petty quibble I know lol

any fusion SE with package 200A or 201A has the running lights under the headlights if you are interested in buying one, look for package 200A of 201A.
+Randy Wild I was about to say that. I've never had a problem with the fusions. Owned 1 that I traded in for the newer version. My 2009 had no problems at 130000 miles. Just change of battery and tires. Changed it for a 2015 with now close to 40000 miles and still no problems. In fact CarMD rates it as one of the most reliable cars.
+Randy Wild Yeah lol drive close to about 200 miles daily. Took a couple of road trips across texas as well. But yeah I hate all these companies that bash on ford talking about the reliability issues but all it is, is a simple infotainment system. They never talk about how reliable the vehicles are or how few of them go to the shop. They just talk about Ford going down because of Sync. But the new Sync will change all that. Lol let's see what they find to complain about now.
+Randy Wild Lol I don't doubt it. If you look at the badge, it is asymmetrical. The other half isn't the same as the other. Therefore, it fails our reliability tests haha

US has to increase there quality and jobs per hour to make this happen. I work in the industry and this is a unfortunately thing. Obviously cost of the vehicles go down being made in Mexico so we need to excel in other areas to be competitive. I agree 100 percent with comment made in US all day and want that for all American models. If you know a UAW employee there are alot of good hard workers, however the 20% bad eggs who are being protected by the union is ruining our cars. As a general statement UAW ee's wants the same as I but are helping the less deserving people keep there jobs driving down the metrics we need to compete and making it hard on company's to produce cars at a cheaper cost out of obligation of a union due. Safety and then Quality everything else will fall into place.
Some people would find this as a Pro but I actually find it as a con... there are way too many trims/options for Ford vehicles. I can never find a review for one that's configured exactly the way I want it, so that I can see exactly what it does/doesn't have in person... The max should be 4 trims and they need to limit the options and just include higher options in the higher trims like other brands do 😑
This would have been a great video despite the audiophile sounds like he is talking through a microphone, at times, unfortunately, and the clarity of video was okay.
