The fans were allowed close to the action, too close sometimes! Now they are much more safety conscious that's why you don't see the people/fans around the stages. I said it was mentally crazy! All the best from the UK
10:20 --- that was actually in finland, i think few died in that crash and many others got injured... the stage was humalamäki (translated either hophill or drunkenness hill or so) that wasnt really fans fault, the car had clearly broken rear suspension and it was way too bouncy, if it was repaired that wouldnt happen, or driver would slow down enough to not jump on that place
at 9:00 it was rally of the isle of man, Ari vatanen (multi world rally champion, from finland) 130mph speed and he accidentally hit that rock wall and almost lost control, or it might look like that lol
Rally has gotten bigger in world class but smaller local wise fan safety gotten way better fans are further away from stages then press video/photo that's why you don't see them on stage as back in the day
