As an artist, Zhezhi’s companion story looks like it will hit very close to home. I might be in the minority who is very excited for Zhezhi and this upcoming patch.
Her playstyle looks good and shes a ice support and she has air combat got lingyang makes me think they will be good together.......but his really bad hope he gets a rework his getting out class by 4stars mortefi chixa dianjin and sanhua has good damge and fun to play with

I've been browsing through social media. Of course you have a couple of people spouting weird things, but in general I didn't came across any backlash of that sort. People are, of course, happy about a free 5* but also looking forward to some of the QoL changes. It's all good. People expecting a banger content patch every 4 weeks are delusional and should adjust their expectations anyways. Not a single live-service game ever delivered a major-patch every single time. Don't take CC's word/videos for gospel.

Zhezhi story, xiangli yao story, festival event, allow smelt event, tower defense coop event, new elusive realm and tower of adversity, I'd say for a filler patch this is pretty decent considering this game just came out, other gacha games of this genre would barely give you anything to do this early, later on kuro will have more content for us so a little bit of patience is required in these types of games, it happens all the time. Also some ppl didnt even complete depths of elusive realm last patch.
No complaints from me tbh, I went down to 0 after getting S1 Changli with weapon but I'm on guaranteed for Shorekeeper. I'm using the patch to stock my mats back up while trying to work on Taoqi and Jianxin. Oh looking forward to Illusive Realm, I really love that mode.

Filler content comes with a good stuff in my opinion because whenever there is a filler content, there is also some new stuff that they can add to make it even more fun such as event, skins, features, mode, coop event, Quality of Life and so on. These thing is way more valuable than focusing to story line every update, it’ll also give them a time to breath. They cannot make these kind of things before because they’re so focused to lore since release, update 1.0 and update 1.1 so this is good not only for us but for them too to take a break and set a side the competitiveness, just have fun and play the game in casual.
In PGR, filler patches usually contains a free character and is the devs' way of saying that the next update is gonna be a big one that you might wanna spend on. PGR players take it as a sign to prepare (save up) for the next update.
There's a huge underground dungeon area under Mt. Firmament that is still unreachable at the moment. I think this will be the new place for the main quest along with Xiangli Yao's story part.
I think its dumb for the "Loudest Minority" to complain of filler content. It's filler for a reason and I enjoy breaks to catch up on saving asterites. (Im still saving for potential collab characters)

Not every patch needs to be bombastic nor can we expect every patch to be bombastic, the devs need time to come up with bangers. It’s literally like asking an artist to pump out a banger piece every week on the dot-you can imagine the creative burnout and drop in quality (I speak from personal experience too). IMO as long as the filler is satisfying enough, I’m fine waiting for the more heavy content. WuWa’s team to this day is still overclocking just to keep up with the expectations-just read the articles about how much overtime they’ve been doing lately.
The backlash is real as there isn't really much growth on wuwa's social media since they released the 1.2 teasers but it's understandable, I would say there's a big overlap in players coming from hoyo games and they put kuro to the same standard which is just not realistic and frankly being hypocritical due to how big and how much money hoyo has. Keep in mind kuro before wuwa was making 2-3m per month off PGR. Personally i'm the type of player who completes all the content on day 1 and i understand what these people are saying but tbh I play HSR as well and i finish 2.3 and 2.4 in 1 day and put it back to maintenance mode so idk, all gachas are the same... I reached IK45 on ZZZ as well and it has also reached that point but i quit like 1-2 weeks ago. I counted Zhezhi's banner is from 15 Aug to Sep 7 that's 3 weeks and 2 days and if XLY's banner is the same that's 6 weeks and 4 days. I just hope wuwa doesn't do 7 weeks patch cycles tho i want more wuwa content so badly.
I don't mind. I just got Yinlin, Changli and Jinshi, had to lvl all of them up weapons exp, echos etc. So having a patch with some chill events and some time to build up my supports and my account overall isn't bad. I do think Wuwa has a lot of work to do overall and if having a filter means they improve the experience overall than I'm happy with it. But I also understand why some might be disappointed.
Think about it this way, zhiangli yao is free, zhezhi is an optional pull so its a free save on astrite and its a good time to focus on upgrading characters and mat farming
Natlan is coming out in less than 2 weeks and Genshin releasing a new region is one of the largest events in gacha. In a way, Kuro releasing 1.2 as a filler is actually kinda clever. People will be busy with Genshin (many anyway), spending their money in Genshin. But I agree, filler doesn't mean shit, people are worried cos past experiences with hoyo fillers aren't great.
Sorry to disappoint Abrams, Camellya is not coming to a banner in 1.3, Shorekeeper is the only new 5-star, it is going to be a Jiyan re-run for the second banner ... because the game is releasing on PS5 soon, so they want the console players to get the General ;) If 1.4 carries on the Black Shores story, maybe we'll get Camellya then? Who knows.
I am still convinced 1.3 will either only feature one 5 star or start their first rerun banner. If there was another 5 star they would have announced it by now. Also I haven't actually seen anyone really complain about 1.2. Yes, most people recognize it as a filler patch but I haven't seen anyone hating on it just because it's filler. Most people are planning to skip Zhezhi for Shorekeeper anyway, so if anything 1.2 being filler is in their favor. Also, but this is pure speculation, maybe 1.2 was always intended as a filler patch because Natlan will release in the middle of it, and no matter how much of a banger 1.2 would have been many people will head over to check out Natlan, so it might just be a good marketing strategy to let the Natlan hype blow over before trying to recapture the attention with a banger update of their own.
We get patches with new areas and more main quests and patches where we can focus more on the characters and side quests. It’s good to have variety. It’s fine to enjoy less heavy topics from time to time. I’m very exited to get Xiangli Yao so it’s already a great patch for me.

I think that we won't have another character in 1.3, It's been a while since the two 1.3 drip marketing showed up and no new characters have appeared yet. Prob we 'll start to get reruns in the second half. They prob 'll go to the Genshin route with one 5* per patch and two in special patches, like anniversary and start of new region. Genshin too started with two 5* characters per patch and in 1.5 they started to release only one (and in 1.4 they don't released any new 5* only reruns).

Adding its not like you're gonna get a S6 5 star char. lel or his weapon also, the whales who wants to S6 him are still gonna pull and depending on some people who really likes him despite not being whale will probably to try get the sequence that will buff him alot or his weap. What I am afraid about Wuthering Wave, they don't chop story quests. Like continuation of the quest on the other 2nd day and unlocking events upon finishing the quest. They like to put everything in day1 💀. Now I can't complain about why everything is so boring and plain.
I'd rather them not break up the story quest as it forces a break in immersion. I wish we did have more reoccurring content per week though, these dead weeks are absolutely painful.

The Firament is unfinished, because the item we got from completing quest are only for phase 1 event, and next phase is supposedly next next version. But hopefully the 1.3 is a main event since it is festival though there aren't any current festival related in CN this few months for this version. But in JP.

I don't mind. I just got Yinlin, Changli and Jinshi, had to lvl all of them up weapons exp, echos etc. So having a patch with some chill events and some time to build up my supports and my account overall isn't bad.
I do think Wuwa has a lot of work to do overall and if having a filter means they improve the experience overall than I'm happy with it. But I also understand why some might be disappointed.

Natlan is coming out in less than 2 weeks and Genshin releasing a new region is one of the largest events in gacha. In a way, Kuro releasing 1.2 as a filler is actually kinda clever. People will be busy with Genshin (many anyway), spending their money in Genshin. But I agree, filler doesn't mean shit, people are worried cos past experiences with hoyo fillers aren't great.

Sorry to disappoint Abrams, Camellya is not coming to a banner in 1.3, Shorekeeper is the only new 5-star, it is going to be a Jiyan re-run for the second banner ... because the game is releasing on PS5 soon, so they want the console players to get the General ;) If 1.4 carries on the Black Shores story, maybe we'll get Camellya then? Who knows.
I am still convinced 1.3 will either only feature one 5 star or start their first rerun banner. If there was another 5 star they would have announced it by now.
Also I haven't actually seen anyone really complain about 1.2. Yes, most people recognize it as a filler patch but I haven't seen anyone hating on it just because it's filler. Most people are planning to skip Zhezhi for Shorekeeper anyway, so if anything 1.2 being filler is in their favor.
Also, but this is pure speculation, maybe 1.2 was always intended as a filler patch because Natlan will release in the middle of it, and no matter how much of a banger 1.2 would have been many people will head over to check out Natlan, so it might just be a good marketing strategy to let the Natlan hype blow over before trying to recapture the attention with a banger update of their own.
We get patches with new areas and more main quests and patches where we can focus more on the characters and side quests. It’s good to have variety. It’s fine to enjoy less heavy topics from time to time.

I think that we won't have another character in 1.3, It's been a while since the two 1.3 drip marketing showed up and no new characters have appeared yet. Prob we 'll start to get reruns in the second half.
They prob 'll go to the Genshin route with one 5* per patch and two in special patches, like anniversary and start of new region.
Genshin too started with two 5* characters per patch and in 1.5 they started to release only one (and in 1.4 they don't released any new 5* only reruns).

Genshin sucks with free 5 stars for free because of the guy running it. He fucked up Honkai impact 3 until he left to lead genshin.
After he left honkai impact 3 the guy running honkai star rail took over and the players noticed right away the huge jump in rewards. The problem is the guy running genshin is a foundry of hoyoverse so he can't be kicked.
Kuro needs to watch their bottom line they can't run WUWA like PGR.

What I am afraid about Wuthering Wave, they don't chop story quests. Like continuation of the quest on the other 2nd day and unlocking events upon finishing the quest.
They like to put everything in day1 💀. Now I can't complain about why everything is so boring and plain.

I'd rather them not break up the story quest as it forces a break in immersion. I wish we did have more reoccurring content per week though, these dead weeks are absolutely painful.

The Firament is unfinished, because the item we got from completing quest are only for phase 1 event, and next phase is supposedly next next version. But hopefully the 1.3 is a main event since it is festival though there aren't any current festival related in CN this few months for this version. But in JP.
