Incredible concept. It fits perfectly with the stargate having nine chevrons, where the first seven are the location and point of origin, the eighth being a distance variable for locations outside one gate network, and the elusive ninth being a motion vector for gates aboard spaceships. The fact that stargates had nine chevrons long before they had a use for a motion vector shows the intellect of the ancients.
I know it’s a while after you commented but it’s actually a specific code to dial Destiny, as they say in episode one, the use earths symbol as the ninth chevron instead of the planets like a key code instead of a destination, which actually makes its more impressive as the gates then have to track to Destiny along the gate path lade by the seed ships as well as allowing for ability to say that maybe there are more ships out there with different codes that went in different directions to different galaxies. This also gives way to the idea that some fan writers of stargate has said to which if the Tau’ri gain the ability to make gates and produce large ships for them to have gates onboard for easy access and restocking.
@@PoDgYz123 I was actually thinking that a few months back that the ancients would of sent more than one destiny in different directions and that the one address that they found in the atlantis database could be the only one that still works as the other destinys that the ancients sent out could of been destroyed

Gotta admit as a SG1/SGA fan I didn't expect much from this but it's been great so far. It's more like SG1's earlier seasons, where it's more character driven and I can't say it's a bad thing. Overall I've thoroughly enjoyed this season although I would like to see a bit more action. Hopefully they'll raise the stakes for season 2.
My hunch for the fourth series is that Destiny will probably run into a cosmic entity that doesn't take too kindly to intrusion on its territory, and sends the ship right back where it came from along with a declaration of war
@@homeworld1765 It's just annoying after a while. Like, we know who the main casts is, we've got plenty of time in the last 20 episodes to meet them, we don't need you taking away 2 minutes of the show to tell us that.

I just loved the intro and its music! It sounds dark, mysterious and dangerous. The distorted violin and the piano scale were awesome. The new ancient ship is quite beautiful as well. While the halls were lighting up as the camera passes was like and Aline was going to run from place to another.
I love it ... love it, love it, love it. You can hear elements of the 'SG-1' theme in it as well ... it sends a chill down the spine, but in a good way.
I really like this show, and still like it. It's remarkable how this show has polarized viewers between love and hate. People forget that BSG did the same thing. It was so cutting edge, a lot of sci-fi fans absolutely despised it. SGU is the same way, it's part of the new way sci-fi is changing, how sci-fi is growing up, and people will have to get used to that.

I'd only seen the movie stargate w/ kurt russell, love sifi shows decided to check this one out loved it set my DVR after the first episode so i wouldn't miss it.
i found that this show probably had the most potential out of all the stargates as it had limitless story lines traveling through deep space and all and some very good characters like rush , young , eli ,tj ,destiny itself and several others but they were contrasted against other characters that were very iritating like chloe and at times scot because they were both just really stereo typical, chloe had literally no purpose as a main character until the second season and it boiled down to calculating FTL navigation, the plot too was very slow, trying to mimic the battlestar galactica formula with a cast that only less then half of are being properly developed is a grounds for disaster and ending story arcs prematurly just to make the point this show is gritty and no1 can be happy, ie eli's love story with the redhead girl and Tjs baby, the writers should have used those arcs to build the characters and throw challenges at them that they must overcome and fail but they took under written characters stuck them in situations where if the audience felt a bond with them they would enjoy it but if they didnt have that bond and it was boring, the only time they did very well with a character episode was rushes past and how he wasnt there for his wife which you actually felt anger and pity. episode plots had no ambition too,it took 10 episodes to get to the first real alien encounter, but at the end of the day i just feel the show had amazing potential to do as good as sg1 or better but it was wasted on slow and uninteresting plots and underdeveloped characters
It was cancelled because the studio was low on funds and decided that making another bond film would be more profitable. That is the reason it's writer gives for the show being cancelled, the viewing figures were not there either but that was not the primary reason, a lack of money and a better profit making tool were the reasons it got cancelled... The writer also admitted that making a further series wasn't on the cards and with the death of the music composer that didn't help... Great Show!..
