Always love watching you snowboard. I learn just from looking at you. You can post as many snowboard runs as you like. Don't even have to put music on or talk. Leave the natural sound of the slish slash and people in the background.
Awesome thanks!
@@malcolmmoore Please do one without you talking, but mic on, grunts, and whoops whoops!
you make me sick, Malcolm! Sick with envy - envy that I am probably 10% of the snowboarder you are (I know, I'm inflating my own abilities there...), envy that I don't live closer to such beautiful places and runs, and envy that I cannot benefit from your in-person training! But...
This year, after a 15 year break from boarding - kids came along - and after watching what seems like hundreds of your very, very excellent instructional videos, I took my 55 year old ass and two of those kids - my daughters - to the mountains. I thought these old bones would suffer, but using your advice to hone my technique, not only did I get through the week unscathed, but also managed to get my two girls addicted to snowboarding. I was so proud of my 9 year old especially, she really had to struggle to keep up with her 15 year old sister at first, but she always made sure we were last off the mountain each day, and by the end of the week she was outperforming her sis, and tackling the reds. I really look forward to taking them again, and they can't wait to go. You did that. If not all, then the largest proportion, as I was able be a conduit for your advice, and get them into good habits and carving, well, if not from day one, then day three at least.
You're a good man, a great 'tuber, and a superb teacher. Thank you, from me and my two new snowboarders :)
Nahh man. Give yo self some credit!! 🙌
Thanks for the kind words, and great to hear your story, but as the other guy says, absolutely - give yourself pat on the back!
It's always a pleasure witnessing an accredited expert demonstrate a passion and joy for the sport. Thank you!
I would love more videos of you just enjoying a run. This was chill AF.❤
Yes, please!
Absolutely marvelous vid. Effortless riding. I was in Andorra a week ago and the conditions were great. My riding has improved loads through your instruction and coaching and I thank you. Catch you next season.
Nice one!
Mate you are legend. Even as someone who's snowboarded for over 20 years, I hope to take a lesson from you someday!
Thanks so much 😊🫶
Thank you so much for your videos. I've learnt so much and greatly appreciate your effort! It's great to see you enjoy a well deserved end of day run!🤙
Yes enjoy every moment of snowboarding peace out brother check in soon stay busy this summer 🤙
Cheers boss, you too!
Besides the precious takeaways on ridings, your videos are so enjoyable as your passion and love for this sport truly shines through the cam.
I appreciate that!
Just got back from my 2nd week of snowboarding ever and your videos are always the perfect preparation. I'm sure I've advanced quicker because of your tips and techniques! Thank you for that!
Great to hear!
Same here , after the initial panic is over i get the calm Malcolm in my head "your weight is not where it supposed to be", and that helps :) I struggled on gentle green , i went back watched some vids from Malcolm, got back on the slopes it clicked and i had fun on Blue runs , happy with myself i get a call from wife "i've seen that guy you always watch on YT and told his vids are super helpful and he's doing supper job" that made my day :) So Malcolm you're helping a lot of people to enjoy Snowboarding . Thanks :)
Classic Kiwi porridge session with Nordic track annihilation and river bed hopping in an accessible, safe environment filmed on Insta 360! What's not to like about this?🍻
I’ve just come back from my 3rd European trip of the season, by the last few days of the last trip I was absolutely cooked and just rode the board, zero effort, no energy, ultra relaxed……. great days!
Amazing!
sorry to hear that you were sick, hope you are better now, it's always a pleasure to see you updated with new videos. looking forward to see the next one.
Thanks!
Incredible. A clip without almost any valuable tech content but so nice and fun to be watching. Thanks mate!
My pleasure!
One thing I love about snowboarding is the variety of how I experience it. Smooth rides like this one, speed rides, powder, jumps and tricks or simply enjoying the landscape and more, making it my favorite.
Totally agree!
Great boarding from a 55 yr old boarder …roll on next season
Awesome! Love how you control your speed though the run!
looks like a super fun line!
Hey Malcolm, cool video as always. Its so fun to watch you😎 enjoy the last days of the season. Salutations, fabio
Thanks Fabio 😊😊
You have taught me so much friend. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
What a beautiful mountain, Malcolm! Thanks for taking us along on your shred
Thanks for watching 😊😊
Another Classic Malcom Moore Video :O) always great watching your vids makes me jealous but in a good way. 😆
Lovely video, see you next year
What a wonderful video. Thank you so much.
🙏
Lovely vid! Have been slush slashing in April together with my son in Austria, too. Was so good fun! I like spring snow conditions very much and the nice sunny weather in the mountains adds to that and makes those days just awesome. Also best time to learn some new tricks and jumps imo because one falls sooo softly. ;) Keep on riding. Peace!
Love it 🙌🙌🙌
Great to see you chill for a change..enjoy the end of season..I have booked 3 valleys in Jan ...it's a long way off..Keep the content coming..croftee
Luv all your vids! Watching them in summer until the Australian winter arrives! keep going!
Not long now!
Malcolm - looking for a wide board then buy a Donek. My boards are 157cms in length. 318mm at the waist and 357 at the tip and tail (11m sidecut radius). For an 8.7m side cut you're looking at 308mm waist. You will never look back.
Always enjoy your videos!
I appreciate that!
Amazing conditions indeed. The views look amazing as well. I had my last run of the season in similar conditions y'day. It was a great season, but I'm actually glad for spring rn.
Is this the “get lower” video I’ve been requesting since I found you? Yes! Finally. You can still get much lower though. Great!
Man! That fromage wax makes you fly, Mr M! 😉 Keep ripping and inspiring my snow brother!
😂😉😂 absolutely, as tasty as it is fast!
Nice run and excellent message! Enjoy being out, enjoy nature, enjoy your board day and enjoy living!
Absolutely 👌
Really fun to watch, really good end of season content. Thanks for emphasizing on not forgetting to enjoy the mountains and the creativity that snowboarding brings.
🙏
Thanks for all you do man. Good work, cheers from mt. Hood😎
You're welcome 🤗🤗
This looks so damn fun
Great to watch you just ride and talk through the ride. ASMR for snowboarder 😊
Thanks 🙌
Really enjoyed this video👍. Your instructional videos are great, but it’s also great you mix it up a little and just film different runs that you enjoy and show us how it’s really done! Hope you do more of these😉
Awesome, good to know!
Well said Malcs. Easy to get wrapped up in the detail and forgetting to have fun!!
Yeah definitely!
Just on the way home from LAAX and downloading this to watch on the plane! Nice.
LAAX is always good, hope you had a good one!
Thx for all the vids ❤
Many thanks, appreciate the tip 🙏
you're killing us Malcom! Hope to see you again next year.🤞
Brilliant
Happy to have you back! So good to see you flow. I’ve been practising switch and made some nasty slams. I’m sure you already made a video about it. Some pointers would still be appreciated.
Yeah I got a switch video back there somewhere, but I'll make another one next season for sure!
just got done snowboarding in utah and Im back in Southern California where the season is ending soon. My skills have been greatly improved thanks to your tutorials so thanks :)
That is awesome, good work!
Malcom, as a fellow large foot rider (size 14 shoe here) I also wanted a wide board. Check out the Lib Tech Stump Ape. Nice and wide and perfect for us big foot guys. Great board.
Making me want to sell up & head to the mountains full time. ❤😂
Do it!
I totally agree with you. There are days in my snowboarding when I just enjoy the mountains and snowboarding without experiments and attempting new tricks. Please make a review of Stranda snowboards. I checked this brand, but your opinion is much more valuable for me than what is wirtten on the brand webpage.
It's a great board, carves really well, rides powder really well, it's not great in the park but I didn't get it for that!
I appologize, but since the info is limited about Stranda and i am kind of intriguite by the brand and especially Biru, i would like to ask some more questions about the board. 1.How heavy it is? 2.These "pumps" on the edge which which we have with Mervin brands and Jones, are they effective with Stranda on icy conditions? 3.How do you find the base? For me Jones and Capita provide best bases are Stranda base is good for you. Of course waxing the board is always critical. Great videos. Trying to learn from you.
I think of it like this, you need the skill and ability to execute that skill in a controlled manner in order to navigate variable terrain. Just like in any sport, you break down fundamentals to apply them in a game (which would be riding the mountain) which isn't perfect slope etc.
What ski resort is it? Very beautiful!
More videos like this please
Looks like a shooting star at 1:13
So much freshies! Looks a nice place to ride, so much anow in april!!!! Where is it?
Alpe d'Huez 😊😊
This season is over, having this in mind could you share some exercises that could keep beginners in shape before the next one starts and make the start of next season easier. Through they year i always forget what hurts the most ...
Love your tutorials, could you possibly make a tutorial on how to ride through glades/trees?
I don't really have many trees where I am unfortunately, they stop growing at around 1800m here, and it rarely snows much lower than that!
Saying buy to Easy coast riding for sure but I’ll be in SLC April 17-20 hitting Snowbird, Snowbasin, Brighton, never Summer lol
Will also plan a trip out West in June.
Nice, enjoy it!
@@malcolmmoorethank you! I sure will, keep posting the great videos you do. 😊
Hey, Malcolm! Your videos have helped me progress so much! I’m having one problem though, my heel side turns are way shorter than my toe side turns. I feel a bit unstable when I’m taking big turns on my heel edge (from toe to heel with early edge change, so I’m heel side before I face the fall line). I think I’m most uncomfortable when my board is in the fall line during the turn so I always rush through until my heel edge is traversing across the slope, then I feel stable again. How do I fix this so I can take big turns on mellow slopes?
And thanks for all the videos you’ve brought us, you explain in a way that is very easy to understand and your videos have really got me hooked on snowboarding!
Hope you offer BC tours soon, would love to hire you as a guide!
Would love to ride in BC again!
Just yes.
Thank you for a great video! Any beginner tips for riding spring conditions?
Here's a good start:

@@malcolmmoore Great! Thanks! I also studied the 8 steps to carving-video. Looking forward to try it out!
pure joy to see that, especially knowing that my season is over :(
Thanks for this, Malcom! Lovely riding as always. Was the whole video shot in Me Mode?
Nah I shot this one in 360 mode so I could pan the camera around, I just used the auto track feature to keep it on my when I wanted it on me. It does also give a slightly larger FOV than me mode.
@malcolmmoore, Malcom if you ever felt like it, can you please explain the ratio of Board width to Boot size, in one of your videos ? the reason I'm asking, is that I wear boots size 11.5 US and have been riding wide boards ( normally width size>260mm) or longer boards over 160cm, I would love to know what would be the good/safe range, or width to boot/binding size ratio is. I feel like I'm missing out on so many good boards in the market to ride :(
Living the dream
👌
That was Fun😁🤟
What do you do during summer. Months?
I live next to les deux alpes so I get some time up there on the glacier. Sometimes I'm teaching courses in the snow domes in the UK, but generally it's a quieter time for me than the full on winter 😊
Hi Malcolm!
Unrelated question.
Is it possible to resort snowboard during the month of May in the Alps ? and if so what's the best resort for it? Val Thorens, Val d'Isère or other? in Alpe d'Huez? and are you still doing lessons? Thanks!
I'm amazed how you can keep talking non-stop and keep most of your breath over an 8 minute run
Haha 🤗
That run is amazing! How long is it? Seems like at least 7 or 8 miles!
Yeah probably a fair few miles, I actually started from higher up but got a bit tongue tied so had to start again on the way down!
@@malcolmmoore love your videos sir! I still learn something new from you quite a bit.
If youre looking for a fatty, i recommend the weston hatchet. The 152 with a 27.3 waist is an all around board. Good for pow and it rips the groomer. They also have a 156 at a 28 waist too
Since you're one of the bigger snowboarding channels, i would reach out to them since not many people have heard of them
Nice, thanks for the heads up, yeah I hadn't heard of them!
Malcolm! On a different note, Might I ask you about your Biru? How does it feel flex wise compared to your older boards that you ride? What size are you riding and what stance angles?
I'm on the 156, or 157? Not sure, the biggest one anyway. It's about as stiff as I like to go, I still like to be able to bend the board a bit and for some freestyle. The stiffness definitely makes it carve well and hold an edge, I really like it, it kills it in powder as well. I've ridden it alot this season but I do appreciate also having a true twin park board (nidecker sensor plus) for when I want to jib about more.
+15 -12
Where is this? it looks lovely
Alpe d'Huez 😊
Do you provide lessons at Les 3 vallees?
Any recommendations for a good place to ride in mid may? :)
Riksgransen? Glaciers can be good if there's some late season snow, Zermatt is always open
what do you get up to in the summer malcolm :)
I try and make some content over in les deux alpes up on the glacier, I sometimes teach courses in the snow domes in the UK. I used to work alone a cycle shop in alpe d'Huez but now I'm lucky enough to take a bit of time off
Where are you riding? Those runs look like they go forever!
This is my home resort, Alpe d'Huez 😊
What binding angles do you tend to use?
+15 -12 here, I ride that 95% of the time, sometimes I like to go +36 +27 for a bit of carving fun though 😂
@@malcolmmoore Sounds sick! First time at Alpe Dhuez this season, shame I didn’t bump into you. Always next season 👊
Envious 🙂
which ski resort is this mate? where? which country please?
Alpe d'Huez in France 🇫🇷
@@malcolmmoore thanks. I went to the 2 des alpes. It was rubbish. I will try that one next season then thanks. Maybe i see you there too :)
hi how can someone from the uk work in the mountaints to be able to snowboard regularly after brexit? i havent been able to afford a trip this year and i would love to work there but brexit sucks
Yeah Brexit has made it really complicated, fortunately for me I was able to get my french residency just before Brexit. Some tour operators can still offer jobs with work visas so it is still possible, best to look on their career pages, good luck!
Your UA-cam tuition has far from taken the fun out of snowboarding, more to the point , it helps us lessor snowboarding mortals to get better and enjoy it more ! See you next season , peace ✌️
Where is this exactly?
Hi Malcom, perhaps silly question, do you know a “Malcom” (colleague) that do ski videos? My partner asked this because see also miss the important tips like you have for snowboarding…
here's a good start! www.youtube.com/@skicoachingonline
@@malcolmmoore
Thanks Malcom, with your latest videos improving my riding this week in tignes 👍🏆 great tips!!
What resort is this?
Alpe d'Huez 😊😊
i was like... is that stranda? check description... yes it is... how do you find the board?
I love it, been riding it alot this season, carves amazing, rides powder really well, not the best for butters, but its not a park board!
@@malcolmmoore my dancehul broke (delaminated) so I’m due a new board how would you say it compares?
much burn on the legs? hehe
End of the season so they're getting used to it 😆
FELLOW BOARDERS: HELP NEEDED!
As im getting older (47) i notice each year that goes by my fear of speed is start taking over. Results in me not boarding relaxed on red pistes any more and generally having less fun.
Anyone has similar experiences and know a way to get out of this ‘head’ state of mind?
Thinking for next year to just get some lessons again the first days. Just to help build up confidence. All tips are welcome.
Mate, I’m 53….. been riding 15 years and just got my fastest speed on my snowboard of 56mph. I always ride with music, (in helmet speakers), it helps you relax and you can’t hear the wind noise so you don’t realise how fast you’re going until you check your app later. Good luck!
Try to eat more red meat and fat for strength, flooding your brain with good stuff and for your joints. I started eating more red meat last December and had the easiest snowboarding season ever this year.
@@TCK71thanks man, sounds (funny) like a good tip! Might try that. Do the same on my motorbike, so actually weird I didn’t think about it myself. 👍🏼
@@magistradox39at 47 meat and fat is what you try to avoid a bit more 😅 Thanks for the tip though. Ill look into it. 👍🏼
@@bjrnchrstn wrong. Sugar and carbs you should be avoiding. Since I eat more red meat, fish, good fats I feel so good like never before. My joints, my brain, the whole body feel like they are renewed. I know the time we are living in tells us the total opposite: more carbs, less meat, less good fats. Good fats are: from animals which are grass fed, olive oil, coconut and avocado oil. And grass fed butter.
🤝🏻
😊
Do you use standard bindings or the nidecker step ins?
These are the supermatics, the nidecker step in bindings, I've been using these most of the time this season. I do also have some normal 2 strap bindings but I've mostly been on the step ins!
@@malcolmmoore thanks for the reply! the fact that you are still using them all this time later suggests there is no performance trade off from regular bindings?
