Great is Thy Faithfulness | Jake Weidmann

The latest hymn from Weidmann's classic hymn series, 'Great is Thy Faithfulness' is a piece that comforts, uplifts, and surprises with joy... in a time when we need it most. The project began in January 2020 and little did Weidmann know how poignant this piece would be as the year progressed.
This micro-documentary shares the background of the making of this artwork as well as the story of the original hymn writer, Thomas Obadiah Chisholm, and the parallels of his day to the one we are now living: a nation divided, pandemic realities, and economic crises, to name a few. But the story does not end there as we are reminded of Hope: 'The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him." ' Lamentations 2:22-24
