Fantastic video, you showed everything that needs to be done including removing the bleed screw, other guys dont mention or show that procedure. I need to change 2 filters on a 4640 tomorrow and wasnt completely sure on what to do. Thank you for great effort here.
Sounds strong - this was a helpful procedure for my JD 710 C also. I bled it and it stall gave it a couple of snorts of either and started right up - thank you!
Hello sir I have a John Deere 5020 that was my grandads and it has two of those same fuel filters. Will I go about the same steps like you did for the one filter? Also I’ve seen some videos about woolen draining the fuel before they change the filters, is that necessary or can I just change and pump like you did? Lastly, I saw your switch video you did on your 4320 as well, I’m having an issue with my 5020 also not turning over whenever I turn the switch. Could that be an ignition switch issue as well. I believe my grandad may have tried to take a cheap way around and change one of the ends instead of the whole switch.
Im sorry but not familiar with the 5020 series. So I can not help with that. As far as the switch issue. Could be numerous things. Best thing I can recommend is buying a service manual for your tractor. I got mine from Amazon. It has wiring diagrams to help with the starting issue. Also will assist you with the fuel filter cituation as well. Go to partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/ and search your model tractor. It will also have pictures and part numbers that will help. How much pressure is on those fuel lines going from that pump to the filter. When I talk to different deere owners I get different answers. Mine is a 1975 2030
How does the actual fuel filter bracket look like from the front with out the fuel filter, bought a tractor bypassed w out it an needed to how how it looks
