HE CREATES MASTERPIECES WITH ONLY HIS HANDS

Russell Powell is an accomplished oil painter and creator of a unique handstamping technique. He uses his body as part of his creative process by painting with oil paint directly in his hands, which he then uses as a stamp. The lines of his hand become part of his compositions.
Each portrait is created on a 18 x 24 raised surface, each piece is incredibly detailed.
A self-taught artist, Russell has been teaching elementary school art for the past sixteen years in Campbell. He credits his students as a major source of inspiration for his work.
