He is actually a very sweet guy, who loves his wife a lot so why need to be punished.
It isn't like he always ignore his wife but the situation made him so busy with his work. Everyone can go through a time like that.
Beside that i don't think he talked to her rudely and disrespect her.
Importantly it's not like he is doing this from the beginning. It's just a 1 month he got busy. And he already planned a trip for them just because he is missing her.
Punishments can't slove every problem we have. And giving punishment is not always practical. Understanding is more important for a situation like this.
