Another insightful video, Mark, keep it up! I’m very much interested in learning more of your MD+Steppy’s simple yet effective techniques. Love the sounds on this sequence btw. It’ll be the soundtrack of my day. Cheers!
Hey thanks for watching! This combo is always super playable for such small HP but does take some experimentation. If you check out some of my previous videos you’ll find more examples and I’ll keep making more too. I’m also planning on setting up some deep dives but those take a lot more time and effort
Thanks for sharing… Already 1 year I have a Mimetic Digitalis and still I don’t grasp it 100%… so I am sure I am not using all the potential this module can offer Soma more knowledge will be welcome…

@@xetamurai I thought I’d like the ground control but it doesn’t quite right to me for some reason. I think I’d like WMD Metron but I refuse to pay for multiple add on modules. Will look into the Vector some more as I’ve heard really good things about it. My go to sequencer right now is Metropolix due to the ease of creating complex polyrhythms and altering them in subtle playable ways.
Superb Mark, really liked the Melodies jumping around Rhythmically, need more tutorials on MD and Steppy, in depth, wonder if having 2 MD, 2 Steppy would increase options of more intricate Rhythms???👍🆒🎶🎶🎶👁🕸⚡️🆒
@@markbooth and we're all better for it. I'm really curious about why looping acts differently on the red steps (1, 5, 9, 13) versus the green. I'm sure it's baked-in the logic inside Mimetic, I'll check the manual and also replicate in my rack. (I also need to learn how to enable looping mode on Steppy, I bet you have that in an older video, I'll check there plus the Steppy manual). So I *think* the reason a trigger on X input skips a step is because N and X are both receiving a trigger at the same time, which advances the X position twice (once from N and once from X). Does that make sense to you, too?
@@MChristian I honestly have no idea why the red steps were behaving differently in this patch but I gave double the performance so I’m not complaining. Hitting sweet spots is what gives you that YES moment. And loopy mode is great on steppy. It’s the infinity symbol on the same button as SHIFT. Hit select then infinity to activate it. Of course I have a Steppy walkthrough video where I explain how to use it ua-cam.com/video/nnG1QeJISFE/v-deo.html

@@markbooth I know! I love my BIA but bought all WMD Drum Modules b4 they closed so I've been learning to use those with Numeric Repetitor + Horologic Solum and the new Tymp Legio Drum Module which you really should look into! IT'S A BLAST to play ~🔥🤙🏽🥁
@@slarteybartfast thanks, I try and keep it as clear to follow as possible but most importantly there has to be a really great groove to back it up Jeremy from red means recording is great at that!
Another great video, thanks Mark. Interesting what can be done with the X-Axis & Loop. Cheers.
Mimetic always produces great cv modulation. Another great tip is to clock it from steppy and to not use every 1/16 step

Bia attack on quasi fully left without symbales sounds !!?
Attach is getting positive CV from Mimetic so must have been rarely zero. The low pass filter would also tame it.
