I'm not Japanese but this is what I admire about Japanese people and culture. Everything they do is done with a level of care and dedication, yielding beautiful results. Other cultures could learn a lot from the Japanese.
I try to make DIY Aquascape, not with high technology, it is more satisfying than buying all equipment for Aquascape, "Beautiful does not have to be expensive"
Takashi Amano can change my world!
I own a ADA tank. The low iron/high clarity glass and the silicon work is one of the best on the market. Even the ADA aquasoil is the best. I don't agree on how ADA is better with every product they release. I don't buy filters, lights, CO2 kits, or glass lily pipes from them. I rather buy a Eheim canister filter then a ADA filter or a buildmyled over ADA lights. They are way over price for there products and I rather buy something cheaper with the same results. The only thing that's worth buying from them is the glass tank and soil.
You heard it here first guys 12:00 - Grand Solar I is equivalent to the power of the GOD DAMN SUN! What are you idiots waiting for? Buy this incredible feat of engineering NOW!
I agree with everything but the branding concept. If it was really about nature the soil wouldn't be 80 a bag and they would teach everyone the details about he actual nutrients and be more available for that part of the science. Most of these nutrients are available naturally and don't cost tons of money. I have been working in the aquaponics industry since I was 12. I wish to see this change with people who have the platform to get out to many people. It is good to move in this direction. But you don't need special soil. I too get the results he boasts. You just need to understand what the plants and animals need in your enviroments and adjusting accordingly. I almost bought his soil but when i saw the price.......
Having ADA products are expensive enough to anyone, but having Amano himself design an Aquascape for you can cost a fortune! hiring him to do an Aquascape means buying all his products in a Package! I heard that a University around Tokyo hired him to do a huge Tank Aquascape and they cost them a fortune plus if are not familiar with Aquascape you actually have to hire his staff to do maintenance on the Aquarium! Talk about a lifetime payment that is why Amano is rich and a Genius! He is very well known in Japan that almost every Aquascapers buy his products and hire his staff! I also learned he has a training sessions to all young aspiring Aquascapers!!
I understand (now) that this is a sort of PR video for ADA, but I would have liked to see more about Amano's strategies for creating aquascapes. I didn't really understand some of the testimonials, you can't just say your aquatic plants are thriving because you're now using ADA aquasoil, and I'm not going to buy an ADA lamp just because you say "you should totally buy one!" Why don't you give me some specs? Or explain how it works? Showing people in suits around a table just looking at it doesn't make me want to buy one.
Your next big Aquarium? A room sized tank,no more then 2' deep and with a large smooth boulder in the middle. Its where you sit to view the fish swim around you. Only need waders. It also will be a stream flow moving strongly from a shaded corner with dense plant life waving to the sides of it..add a diorama to the walls. Photos or painted. Just sit and think as fish swim around your legs. My idea.
+Pieman4233 I'm saying some of these tanks are completely do-able without the fancy gloss of the marketing laden accessories that cost a fortune when in fact with some ingenuity (and some time) you can make your own tools, filter, lighting, planter, co2 diffuser. The fish and plants might cost more or less depending on your location but most of the other stuff can be ordered online for a much cheaper price if your smart enough to have a workaround for it or are aware of what the marketplace offers as alternatives.
yea just get some wood and rocks from your local river. free! oh the parasites and other toxic chemical compounds are free too! i totally natural ecosystem!
great visionary and artist Amano, but it disgusts me when something becomes a product, and talking about the greenhouse effect how much power does this lights, motors, filtration systems consumes not to mention the emissions in transportation of these products all over the world? Its not perfect until its self sustainable, My message to hobbyists, "that aquarium is not nature but an ADA product" but their idea and research is Marvellous

Takashi Amano is the man

and by the way, this is a real cool company.
You can do all this without forking a fortune... Don't confuse the marketing for the final product...
What do you mean who does have space for a 500 gallon tank and who doesn't have the money to spend 10,000$ on an easy project
