She is an amazing AMAZING teacher. OMG don't you wish every teacher could reach into your soul like this and coax out the part of you that yearns to escape, and help guide you on your journey. This is so fascinating to watch.
That masterclass had many many talents, she is a Rolls Royce, such grace and that overall beauty, I was flabbergasted. She has that personal silvery metalic "fling" in her top, that asks for more...and the future....Mozart is suited PERFECT for the instrument. The Countess in La Nozze...yes. And who knows....in many years....Sieglinde. Strauss, Letzt Lieder...omg.
the question from the young man regarding being a mimic is something I found myself doing. one needs to find their OWN voice and natural sound it also means his speaking voice will not sound strained anymore too as a result.
If my memory serves me right, Pavarotti never sang in Don Giovanni at the Met and Ms Vaness did so but later in the 90’s. Sincerely hope JdD is more accurate in her teaching than with operatic trivia but sometimes I wonder.
It destroyed the integrity of the music when the pianist removed the orchestral closing of the aria. It saved them 2 seconds in a 40 Minute masterclass. I wish he had played it entirely as it provides an excellent closing to the already dramatic and virtuosic aria.
R S I think you could have found a lot classier, less vulgar, insulting way to express your feelings about the comment. If you lash out so viciously, YOU become the problem, NOT the comment. Breathe, relax, and use your words they way you want to be spoken to. You're certainly not perfect and Im SURE youve said something that may not have been so perfect at times. Take a look in the mirror and realize you're NO BETTER and you say things that people want to lash out to also. You can't make your point by yelling from a sewer. Understand? No one will listen, they'll run from you. And you're true message will be completely LOST.
It's her personal expression of her creativity. Don't read into it any more than that. Perhaps focusing on what she says and teaches is all that is significant. I'm concentrating so hard on her teaching I don't even notice what she's wearing. Perhaps your talent lies in fashion and clothes if that's what you are paying attention to. When you make a comment like that it makes you look judgemental of superficial things. People get pretty defensive when you do that.
I'm a simple man, I see Don Giovanni, I click *like* and then watch.
I love how she sings the coloratures and she sings belcanto. One of the best in this masterclass. Brava ! Joyce DiDonato is the best teacher ever !

Thank you for your comment. We are delighted to know that you found this master class fascinating.
I absolutely agree! I love to watch Joyce;s masterclasses! she is fantastic!
Joyce has the most wonderful teaching talent for getting right to the issue.
Now that is a voice! Never seen that kind of reaction from a crowd in a masterclass.

She's definitely a Rolls Royce.
BRAVA Suzannah! Absolutely NAILED IT
The 17-year-old dude is like an adorable, enthusiastic puppy and I am dead.
We love you Joyce ♥️♥️♥️
Beautiful voice !!!!!
Such a great, great lesson about life! Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
wow such majesty and light in this voice so gifted
World class voice.
Carol Vaness was amazing in that performance, but the tenor was the talented Jerry Hadley.
@33:29 min (hail to the guy named Collin)"You are a Goddess, thank you for existing!!!!!!!!!" :D :D :D
This is so sweet, but SO TRUE.
(And still no one spilled his name here.) :D
DAME DIDONATO!!!

What a jewel of a person!
My cockatiel loves Suzannah's voice...He has good taste.
Joyce - you are my Goddess

도나씬 노래도잘하시고
첫째 그의음색이죠
지금 Soprano김순영님처럼요
음색이 넘~♡♡ 아름답습니다
물론 폐활양도대단합니다
espanto de pianista
The only student that had some voice in all these masterclasses...
allison king also had a stunning voice, though a bit less refined
Check out Narea Son (singing Rossini and Handel). She had the perfect soubrette. Joyce herself said she had "sound from the heavens"
@@AuntAgatha0fullmoon There's no such thing as a soubrette.
It was very useful and great master class! Thanks o lot to Joyce DiDonato. But I don't understand why she always wear so short dresses?
Елена Иванова because she wants to and it’s none of your fucking business or choice what she wears? Fuck off to 1950.

D'Anna C I always like civilized comments.. 👏🏻
She has the legs to carry it off beautifully.
The girl seems so sad.
She deserves a better voice teacher
vergogna .
questa ragazza ha LA VOCE DEL SOPRANO .
impostazione sbagliatissima , la maestra non dice niente !
vergogna !
Una vera voce, si.
La poveretta verrà rovinata dai suoi maestri, come quasi tutti noi
Cecilia

Bellissima voce, ma dimagrisci tesoro!!! Almeno un po'... 🤨
