THIS IS REAL INNOVATION! This alone has me won over vs Neptune I can upgrade the setup as I please without being locked into buying the whole system. I'm sold
@@ConnoratCoralVue I still can't turn off a few of the lights on my XP8 and had to put duct tape on it just to keep it down even on night mode. My X4 turns all of them off. Any way we can update it for those of us that keep it in a bedroom? Left a comment on the forum months ago but it never got a response.
It’s not exactly necessary considering that most PH test out there can be done in 30 seconds on our own. Also you can always just buy the Hanna controller with the probes and that continuously measures (via digital reading on the controller) both Salinity and PH
I was thinking the same thing. Id pay 1500 for it if it had a PH and salinity port. Let's be honest, the only 5 things you need in this hobby is ....1. Temp 2. SAL 3. PH 4. ALK 5 PHOS. I can do the other test once a month by hand.......and don't let anyone tell you PH isn't important. If they do they don't understand science or reefing.
We have not explicitly stated that yet. We are working with our beta testers and chemists to determine the resolution and overall accuracy of a low-range and high-range test. Sorry for not answering, but the true answer is....there is not an answer yet. Always improving :)
@@TopShelfAquatics true, however the x10 advertising campaign highlighted sample isolation for testing purposes. I am simply calling out CoralVue for repeating that they don’t force user to test parameters yet we are forced to test Alk when testing Salinity through the IV.
@@imCXS-zh2yt You make a great point, and you're right. Currently, it's necessary to run an alkalinity test alongside salinity for an iV test. This will be addressed in the next app update. We are aware of this and continuously strive to improve. Thanks to our in-house development, we're very agile, and I've witnessed these changes firsthand. However, it's worth mentioning that you could simply state there is a reagent pump for the alkalinity test. True, it might fail after each test, but it would still enable you to accomplish what you're asking. We're always working on improvements! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
People bitching about the pricing are too stupid to realize it’s cheaper than the trident + apex you need to test all 5 of these parameters. Bot to mention you can set your own schedule. If the reagents come in at the same price as trident’s this will be much cheaper. With the trident you are spending $55 a month on reagents alone
hmmmm... new trident np or this. hmm.... i just know im tired of testing nitrates and phos every 2 days while i battle dinos. ***Edit- holy cow for $1200 i think ill go trident....even though i love everything about this, and this seems superior, $1200 is the price of my aquarium itself. I just cant.
Totally understandable. It is up to you which route to take with the modularity of HYDROS, but I would like to remind that the MAVEN is a standalone unit that tests the big 5 parameters. You do not have to have ANY other HYDROS to achieve this. If you are within HYDROS, you will be able to add this on at your convenience, or it may become your first device. Or, we can manually log entries in the app. We are trying to create Aquarium Automation for EVERYONE, but a device such as this comes with a price. Thank you for watching the video and make sure to reach out with any questions! We are there for ya!
@@ConnoratCoralVue i will say i loved the fact it cleans out the lines with water and air, and i loved that it lasts almost a year. that is wayyyyy better than the 2 months trident offers. maybe if i put it on a payment plan haha.
If you buy a trident and a np you are at 1200 plus the Apex. This is a all in one controller and tester. I run neptune now and will definitely try hydros on my new tank and half tempted to just throw the neptune system away. It's constant problems never alarms you about trident stuff

I don’t know, the hydros IV doesn’t work well. Wish you luck
@@imCXS-zh2ytmy IV works fine 🤷♂️
I'm selling my Neptune gear and making the switch to Hydros. These guys are doing it right !!
I would wait
This is a kick ass unit! Hydros is sick and great review
Glad you enjoyed the video! We look forward to this product hitting the market!

I just have Hannah testers for now. this looks great in the future for more hands off results.
Nice to have something that is double checking your manual tests! Thanks for tuning in and dropping a comment!

I love the passion Carlos brings the hobby!
Agreed! Always nice to see the passion shining through!

I hope they innovate on a better fleece roller and UV light. We all know how those went. Glad they are improving we need competition in this hobby.
Will hydros ever coming to the Uk?
Is there a way to turn off all the flashing lights on these hydros devices?
Yes
Yes of course! The minimum on each HYDROS device in a collective is just 1 single LED. You can turn them off, on, or even party mode. Your call. :)

Man I wish they'd come out with a small unit with just 2 ports, a PH and a Salinity. Pair it with this thing and you'd have everything to test.
Well what’s the timer on reagents? How long do they last?
Literally said a yr from opening
Carlos mentions there are 100 tests per parameter, and that from opening of bottle its roughly a year long life span.

@@mlgkiwee literally or figuratively?
No official time frame for reagent life has been announced.
@@MacheteAdventure he literally said in the video, 1 yr from opening. (approx)
Why is the Hydros system not available in the UK!
Why not add a ph port so we can measure literally everything we need with one device?

steep price tag, without reagents? Or does it come with some?
EPIC! Can’t wait to get my hands on one.
Will they be available for the UK market ?
Curious to know the test results compared to ICP results.
We will have to test that once it hits the market!

What is a shelf life for the reagents?
In the saltwater aquarium video, he said they're still testing. But so far it looks like 3-6 months after opening
...Or just to save money, how about come out with a "Mini Maven" with just Alk and Phosphate?
I want to test only salinity and yet have to test Alk.😅
real pain to get salinity if you bought into the hydros system early....
@@DoYouEvenFishTankthere’s plenty of options
There are units that have salinity probe ports that you can utilize if you are looking to just test some of the parameters in your reef.
