As somone with schizophrenia, this song perfectly decribes my last relationship, while unmedicated, this song shows the pure reality of schizophrenia in a raw form. "I dont know who you are, cause i dont know who i am" is such a real feeling with SZA. And "how do i know how to love if you change your mind again" i felt deep

I'm so sad this song wasn't released😭, Melanie has so many unreleased/scrapped songs that had so much potential, and they sound so good! And I agree with everyone when they said it would fit in with After School EP
she probably didn't release this because it would've been taken out of context and seen as offensive

Did anybody ask? Are you using this mental illness for clout? Or is there a genuine reason to bring it up? I mean cmon, not everything is related to mental illness, plenty of people do this and feel this way, without being borderline. Kinda like you know people feel an automatic response to heart a comment when it includes mental illness, sexualitys, genders, babys, animals, even if they don't care.

I wish this song was in the EP After School, this could fit so well right after Brain & Heart, lyrically it fits pretty well because Brain & Heart talks about the separation people put on the Brain & Heart, Schizo can be the interpretation that if we do separate the Brain & Heart’s opinion and lines. It makes us bipolar and have schizo disorder, unable to decide because that’s how society/ourselves view our Brain & Heart. This is just my opinion tho, the After School EP should’ve have had better cohesive tracks like Melanie’s others EP or Album, but I do understand why Melanie didn’t cohesively tell a story in the EP. Schizo deserved better!!!

@@Alexleal842 There is a big difference between schizo and schizophrenia 😅. Schizophrenia is experience your feelings, thoughts, emotions, etc… mentally and it causes hallucinations, paranoia, anxiety. Schizo on the other hand is when your just unable to decide, you’re indecisive, you don’t hallucinate, your not paranoid, your just bipolar. Both of them are a disorder tho. I do see the similarities but again this song is talking about because bipolar with your partner because society views Heart & Brain as objects and this leads to us being indecisive of what our heart wants and what our brain wants.

schizo is short for schizophrenia ( a mental condition that makes one lose touch from reality and often comes with hallucinations) basically the song is saying she doesn't know who she is, like she is losing touch from reality like a schizo.
