Not necessary that it will have 'good' volume in other places. But you can assume it will have 'some' volume - regardless of what the tools say otherwise. Now, 'some' may be a lot, or it may not be a lot. It depends on the location and population size... I wouldn't stress on search volume. That's the point. Think logically. Is it a service people need? Is there sufficient people in the location that would need it...
What is best way to handle GMB when it is outside of your local reach. I have not heard anyone address this issue yet, they all seem to avoid talking about this issue.
Hey Marcus. Most of the time if it's available. It has clear SEO-benefits and has worked very well for me, personally. I don't actually see it as spammy either - in fact, it shows to a searcher clearly you are meeting their search intent. Either way, I'd rather a site that ranks and gets traffic...

I’ve heard to not to pick a niche with Google Guaranteed listings because it takes away from the organic traffic listings.
