Just 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, McKinney is a picturesque city with a small-town feel that is quite different from the Metroplex's urban sprawl. Our friendly charm, green spaces and comfortable pace belie the fact that McKinney, with a population of 180,000, is one of the fastest-growing cities in America. This is McKinney, Texas, and we are Unique by nature.

    great update.
I frequent Town lake park and they have done a great job at cleaning things up quickly. Walked a few laps last night in fact and other than a few mud areas to avoid it was back to normal. Well done and THANKS

That bonnie wenk park is such a great idea, but why was it built in a known flooding area?
Either way, Thanks to you all for taking care of our beautiful parks.

      Hi Andrea,
Good question. Most parks (across the country) are built in flood plans. The land is significantly cheaper and by using the land for parks it brings value to the community. It also leaves land that is available for development open for businesses to purchase and build on. .
      Thank you!
