Dearest David sir, I have since over many years now read and heard you speak of master Papaji . Devotion for Shri Bhagavan Ramana and His teachings including Robert Adams ( satsang cassettes that so fortunately arrived and listen regularly) has not only increased every time I gaze at His picture in my room but it ALSO reflects the very state that my heart is in !!! all this is due to the clarity in pictures words and pure sincere devotion and pure relentless crisp non-doer is visible by His loving devotee you !! thank you Dear David
Agreed. I am early on my spiritual journey and recently set it aside for the "pleasures" of the world at great detriment. Lesson having been learned I am continuing on my quest and you are a beautiful catalyst to greater understanding by way of your speaking style as well as humble nature. I am grateful for your clarity. There is no greater sight to behold than that of a servant who has in his possession the gift of grace.
Thank You so much Godman...Your services for this movement will lasts forever...got tears to my eyes in the end when Poonja told everything is Bhagavan Ramana only and he is nothing...I know I too am very blessed to have seen this video and knew these great people really well...Unbelievable people on this Earth...Poonja's Baba's life is completely mysterious, unbelievable experiences and complete hard work and dedication...I have too found my true guru in my life...
My heart aches for the Master. He has touch my heart, mind, and being. Thanks to him, I too, await my awakening. The Self, Shiva, God, and Eternal Spirit. Love you Ramana, Papaji, and Mooji. Thanks David.
Luis, I'm sorry there is no connection between "Mooji" and Ramana. Ramana never declared Papaji to be Self realized, and never asked or gave him permission to teach. Mooji just invented a backstory that he someone "awakened" with Papaji (even though he wasn't even near him at the time!) Papaji himself said "I can give people temporary experiences, but I can't make them stick." With that in mind, Mooji is pretending HE is the one case where Papaji did get it to "stick". Why did Papaji have nothing to say about him then? David was in the room when Papaji simply made fun of Mooji's name. That's about it. Ramana left no lineage, Papaji is not recognized by Ramana as anything, so just stick with Ramana.
Thank you Davidji again. First time being when I met you at Arunachalam hills in 2017. You were gliding up and down the hills with such ease. There is something to that.
My deepest respect and gratitude for these videos - my heart sings when I watch them. I was also born in 1953 but feel that I have found my Master in Sri Ramana Maharshi. Is that possible?
That small blueish inner core in the spiritual heart reminds me of the blue pearl that the Bagavan Nityananda's tradition of Ganeshpuri talk about. Surely the same thing. Thanks for your talks.
Thanks so much for all these videos, Sri. David Godman. Two things struck me as something more than just coincidental - on watching the part II video on Papaji: one about the heart centre since this was the point of discussion between me and Sri Michael James in the latter's most recent blog, me quoting Sri S.S. Cohen and Sri Michael James reiterating that Sri Cohen's reflection was confusing for him whereas it was not for me!; and the other, the concluding part in which you read that whatever Papaji taught was (or rather is) did not come out of the mouth of Mr. Poonja's, but of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi's. I heard similar statement attributed to Bhagavan himself - that what did not come out of ancient Rishis' mouths would not come out of his. Grateful to Bhagavan for all the words that came out of your mouth in all these videos. Thanks a lot once again.
At last,I now understand the meaning of these words (of Day by Day,23/05/46 & Nothing ever happened,Vol.1,p 143 ):"but, so long as one....thinks that one is the body, one is advised to see..."etc.At this date,Papaji was realized. So, this advice is for the visitor.
Dive deep Oh mind, there you will find the absolute, immovable, blissful, who's awareness is spread throughout... in this sea of divine nectar One is all. All is one. Existence, consciousness, bliss.
Beautiful photos.I have never understood this "for people who believe that they are the body".Only jivan-muktas know that they R not the body.Intellectually,we may doubt that we R the body.As for the heart,D.G.,M.J.,Mic.Lang.,Who,Sadhu Om R the kind of sadhakas who have not this experience. Also,I already knew all these subjects. Many tricks with Papaji:necessity to take again 8,4 million of incarnations;bypassing the heart at the right side (not always).I love Papaji also.
Dear David thanks a million for your spiritual service. Your voice is so divine and narration is excellent. I know very little about Bhagawan Ramana Maharishi and have learnt a lot from your videos. Please suggest some books that can guide me into spiritual path. Once again thanks a million. 🙏
Respected Godman Sir! From the videos I conceive that you are one among the blessed who have met Ramana Maharishi in person. Have you experienced the 'Self'? and are you able to abide in the 'Self' amidst the worldly activities?
David Godman you have been a great servent of the highest truth. if there comes a time when there is a need for a servent, yourself.. i will come be by your side. eternal gratitude
Raoul Samuel Kray, isn't it so that there is nothing but the self? Who than is saying, I have not realised or it can not be realised? Could that be anything else but the self wrongly believing itself to be a body-mind that is experiencing an objective material world?😘
We honestly cannot be sure that any of the conversation that Papaji said he had with Ramana actually occurred. There were no eyewitnesses, and Ramana himself never corroborated any of these stories. Papaji has told many conflicting versions of these stories as well, which begs the question “which version to believe?” We are probably safer studying the stories of devotees that ARE corroborated by eyewitnesses. There are many.
You are correct. Papaji's stories can't be trusted. There is absolutely NOBODY that even remembers him visiting Ramanashram except one single person, on one single day. Devaraja Mudaliar mentioned that "Mr. Poonja" asked Ramana a question (in a group setting) on May 23, 1946. That's it! That's all! There is not one single person that saw him or mentioned him being at Ramanshram when Ramana was alive, except for that one time. All we have is Poonja's word, but he retells his stories with wildly contradicting details, making it impossible to know which one to believe. Many that knew Poonja admit that "you could never know when he was making something up". Mr. Poonja's Neo Advaita has never produced any success stories, and worse, has only spread false teachers around the world presenting themselves as connected to Ramana via "Papaji". It's quite a mess! There was never a need to stray from Bhagavan. When we do, we get into trouble. Bhagavan did not confirm, or ordain Mr. Poonja in any way, and most definitely did not ask, or give him permission to teach.
David, If the "I" really has been extinguished who is then feeling the gratitude for his Guru for liberation. Who is it that gets offended after reading that note/greeting because the relationship with guru in that note wasn't properly described.
siddharth9 the real i is always there as awarness in the three states liberated establishes himself in awarness and experiences three states ignorant experiences only the states devoid of awarness its like under current on which feelings are imposed but ignorant sees only only feelings
Also;trick of Papaji:we can count the number of "realized" on the fingers of 1 hand.It could not mean jivan-muktas.Maybe,Sat-gurus equal to Ramana...? His disciples were often young,Europeans,Christians, with no great culture in the last years.Only 1 life in official Christianity,Islam. He had to keep them ardent. Not like Indus who feel:"we have time for mukti;next incarnation! @@clearseeing5755 Yes, he also at one point said Neem Karoli Baba was nuts, but then praised him when some of NKB's devotees came to see him. He also called Rajneesh a pig, but then turned around and allowed Rajneesh follwers to think he was "carrying on his work". It is said that it takes a Jnani to recognize another Jnani. No one unanimously held as a Jnani (Ramana, Nisargadatta, Muruganar) ever stated that they saw Poonja as a Jnani.
@@lucyhartman1501 Yes, it begs the question who declared Papaji a Jnani? Indeed, no known Jnani said anything at all about him. But to this day, there is no evidence that Ramana recognized him as Self realized. It’s just something that has been repeated so many times, it’s taken as fact.
It seems to me that Papaji was still identified with attention and the process of where attention arises. Ramana Maharshi refers to the Heart on the right because it was his Realization. However Papaji only had a temporary experience of the Spiritual heart on the right and hence why he continued to worship Ramana Maharshi’s form. Papaji’s Realization of the heart on the right was temporary and that’s why Papaji continued to relate to Ramana Maharshi as his Guru and why he still had questions after the Graceful Gift he received in Ramana Maharshi’s company. In that sense Papaji’s wife’s comparison of Ramana Maharshi’s unconditional state and Papaji’s state (being a lesser state) is perhaps also accurate as she was perhaps the only person who was close enough to both Papaji and Ramana Maharshi to make any comparison. Any human being who is operative from the subtle body is nevertheless a remarkable human being so this takes nothing away from Papaji and the profound service he contributed to mankind. Interestingly, Bhagavan Adi Da Samraj is the only other Realizer to have written about the right side of the heart (from his own experience) and where it fits into his description of the Seven Stages of life. He said Ramana Maharshi was the most advanced Realizer before Bhagavan Adi Da Samraj took birth and that Ramana had stably Realized the Sixth Stage of life (identification with Consciousness Itself but still “separate in the soup”) in his lifetime but that Ramana had only had premonitions of the Seventh Stage of life - which was Bhagavan Adi Da’s unique function and purpose to bring into the world. Bhagavan Adi Da also said that once the Sixth Stage of life has begun it is not possible to lose and that that the Seventh Stage (complete dissolution in and as Consciousness Itself and the recognition that all objects are only Consciousness Itself) is inevitable. Bhagavan Adi Da Samraj (I think) may have also said that Ramana Maharshi has since entered the Seventh Stage of Life.
I agree, the fact that Papaji was still addicted to the form of Ramana, shows he wasn't "cooked". Ramana hid his face to Annamalai to show him that attachment to his form was a hindrance. I'd also add that Papaji is certainly an interesting character. (if we believe his stories). His stories with Ramana are completely uncorroboratable though so we can only take him on his word. With that said, he admitted that he lied when he told people they were "enlightened". ("A Jnani can't tell a lie" - Ramana Maharshi.) I don't think it would be wise to take him at his word.
I agree. Ramana in no way declared Papaji enlightenened. Actions speak more than words. Papaji's actions are not those of a Jnani like Ramana. What people seem to miss is that Papaji went against Ramana by teaching things that were the opposite of Ramana's teachings.
Even in pictures, Bhagavan's eyes are ever present, alive, and powerfully potent.
Don't be afraid of the dream. Go and do your duty
