    This is a tutorial on how to make Ear cuffs from beads and wire. I've added several extra pictures at the end of the video in case anyone needs more visuals. This technique is extremely versatile in that you can use whatever beads you want and also play with designs to see what you like. You can make longer or shorter cuffs but please keep to the 2 inch/ 1.5 inch measurements in the beginning otherwise it may not fit your ear. You can add chains and dangle charms to the main wire too. In the examples I've used 8 and 4 mm bicone crystals, 10 mm octagon crystals with 2 and 4mm silver spacer beads but there is no limit to what beads you can use, in fact you don't have to use beads at all if you don't want to.

    Thank you, Denise. Your information & demonstration should be very helpful in trying to learn to make cuff -earrings. Used to have holes, but over several years, they have closed, so hopefully this will be a way I can incorporate the stud earrings I made years ago into ear cuffs. I'm not on Instgram so hopefully I can find the other tutorials you have made. This will be a challenge as I have both hand arthritis & carpal tunnel. Thank you again.

    Hi, Denise! I am so glad I've discovered your channel. I am a new beader; starting with beadweaving, which I love, but I want to explore other techniques. I could watch your tutorials, and try the techniques, all day long. I think wire wrapping will be my new obsession. Thank you!

    These are so pretty! ❤ This will remedy my cartilage and 3rd piercing healing (it was too painful for a do-over! LOL!). I actually have some WWII era earrings that came from an upscale dept store and they are neither clip-on or pierced. They have a folded wire that fits inside your ear (hard to explain). Cuffs are different but the idea is very similar. Thanks for sharing! 😀

    I have been dying to get into making ear cuffs, and you've made it SO SIMPLE! I just have a quick question (well, maybe not so quick once you see what it is). Why are there all these wires offered in "hard, half hard, etc. and what's the difference? I want to start off right :)

    Hi Denise, I love these, and your instructions are very easy to follow. I made a pair for my mom for Mother's day last night, and I know she will love them! With the design I made, I didn't need to make mirror images, but I was wondering if instead of trying to make a mirror image, you could wrap one cuff around the Sharpie in one direction, and wrap the other cuff in the opposite direction? Thank you!

    Denise I made an ear cuff but it doesn't stay on? It is pretty but whats wrong with it?

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  8 років тому +1

      Hi, sorry to hear that it's falling off. Since everyone's ears are different you might need to push in the wires around your ears so it fits more snugly on your ear, sometimes if the beads are too heavy it can cause it to be less stable as well but I can't say for sure unless I see the cuff. If you want to inbox me a picture of your ear cuff I'll see if there are any suggestions I can give for improving the fit. Hope this helps. Denise

    Here it is....I cut the cuff and wrapped it....I have a piercing in that area and so i have put it through the piercing. BUT I would like to make them for people who don't have a piercing. Any thoughts. I love LOVE your tutorials. How do I send you a picture?

    Denise you are AmazinG thank you for the tutorial. About 20 years ago my sweet ex bought me a pair almost identical at Venice Beach, CA for like 50$!!!

      +Tonya Galang that's a really cool story, what's amazing is that this style was out there 20 years ago and it took this long for the idea to catch fire, your sweetheart really was ahead of the curve, hopefully you still have your original pair because it sound like a collectible, thanks so much for sharing 😊

    Just a thought, if you made the earring cuff identical but rolled the cuff opposite ways would they end up mirror image? I'm not a wire worker so I'm just wondering...thanks

    Too cool! I am inspired...can't wait to give it a go!! Just need to buy some 28 gauge wire to hold it together. Does it have to be 28? Tfs! ; )

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  9 років тому

      Hi and thanks for your comment, no it doesn't need to be 28 gauge any wire will work to bundle it together. I just liked the delicate look of the 28 gauge and it's also easy to work with. Good luck with your project :) Denise

      +LakeTahoe4me I bought it about 10'years ago in a Bead store in Florida I can't even remember the name. You're right they do seem to be harder to find I did find one at firemountaingems.com www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h201307pk and here's a listing on Etsy.com too
