First problem, too many people living in the southwest! Second problem, letting the government manage anything! Third problem, believing anything bought and paid for climate scientists say, which is simply a poor excuse for not getting the first two things. Fact is, the southwest is an arid place where water has always been in short supply. There has never been a doubt in this simple mind, that that part of the country would some day run out of water!
You’re only half right. Too many people living in southwest using too much water. More government regulation not less when it comes to economic growth and development. Climate change is real and it’s largely caused by the burning of fossil fuels so you’re just plain wrong regarding climate scientists. Air pollution and most things would be much worse without government regulation. California led the way with air pollution standards and we all can breathe just a little bit better because of it.
Ya California is the problem for everything.... always...... huh? Not carbon emissions or putting 10 million people in Phoenix, it's those libs in California huh?
@@bigduke2452 I live in California but don’t like the politicians or the ideals held by many. I am third generation and blame my state for many problems including overdevelopment, overuse of resources, growing thirsty crops like almonds, alfalfa and cotton.
@@BackyardBeeKeepingNuevo i live in Utah but don't like the politicians or ideals like massive overdevelopment, overpopulation, growing water thirsty crops like alphalpha to ship over seas. Being a tax haven for multinational corporations. Supporting low wages. Making laws according to cult like religious beliefs. And most of all, blaming the problems we cause on others.
Attn: Las Vegas, the years of cheap hydro-electricity are over, you want power or water?, you can't have an unending supply of both. Time to invest, heavily, in solar and wind generation, let Hoover be the water reservoir, and start harvesting that all that sunlight you take for granted and ignore.

With water running low, it doesnt make sense to move even more water downstream to the desert Lake Powell where there is even more evaporation and higher amounts of water being absorbed into the sandy earth than upstream.
Lake Powell is only a third full, didnt even rise during spring runnoff this year and likely next. We are experiancing longterm climate change desertification in the southwest, not drought. This knowledge is backed by 60 years of global research by 195 nations. Lake Powell is also filling up with sediment, it wont even be able to hold any water in 100 years, even with sufficient precipitation. It also looses 10% of its content every year to evaporation and subsidence into the ground. Lake Mead is only a third full, has less subsidence. It doesnt make sense to move water from reservoirs higher in the watershed because Lake Powell wastes more water through evaporation and subsidence than they do. Better to move the water to Lake Mead and replace the operational costs of Lake Powell with solar projects. Eventually Lake Meade will also fill with sediment, but by that time, hopefully we will have mastered vertical indoor hydroponic farming that uses 100% of water instead of irrigation that wastes 99% of irrigation water. I live in Utah, so I fucking know what I am talking about, not some ill informed fool on the other side of the country.

The main issue is that California continues to take, take, take. This is 90% a man made drought.

California needs to already develop desalination plants, they have bean talking for over 40 years yet no action.

The main temporal issue is lack of precipitation. The main spiritual issue is lack of faith in God who will send rain when we turn to Him.
Amen.
@Wilco Lucero Only to those who don’t know Him.

Lol. Only in America if it doesn’t rain or snow you can always litigate. It’s no longer the land of opportunity, it’s now the land of fantasy.
land of the FAT TAKERS.. Soon they will have nothing but water.. THE NEW MAP
No, we pulled out of that disastrous direction.

Hell, even I can see that removing the dam completely won't solve anything, and I don't even live in that part of the US (I'm in Oklahoma).

Glen canyon dam was essentially built as a backup for lake mead down stream. Now they a backup for the backup
Utah = corona water dam
its only going to get worse....
Turn off HAARP
HAARP🤣😅🤣😂🙄
