- What do you think? I try not to tell them I am filming just to see the type of job they do. Located on 42nd St and 8th Ave. They are looking inside the subway station (A,C,E train). You have to pay using a MetroCard to have access to the stores. $6 shoe shine.

You have to use your MetroCard in order to access the stores located in the subway station. MetroCard swipe is $2.75..... I remember using the tokens, then when MetroCard came along the swipe was $0.75. I was still in school.

Thank you for notifying me about this shine video! I love this spot. There used to be a barber named John further down closer towards the 44th street exit. I would get a great shoeshine, a buzz cut and catch the train to 59th Street all within an hour before work! Love this spot!! ❤ 👢

Nice shine. I like to see the flair with the towel slapping. Usually seems to come from the shiners really into it.
When I worked on wall street I would always tip the guy more than the shine cost.
The suspense to see if the shoe shiner takes the laces or not
That's the first think i look for and if they dont do it i start to get mad and scream at the computer screen like an idoit

Fair shine Chris. Shame she couldn't adjust the tongue of your right shoe or polish it better. Hate it when the tongue has a mind of its own on my laced shoes...wait a minute, I don't own any laced dress shoes anymore. I'm a slip-on tassel kind of guy! 😉
A couple minutes in and laces are out. A good sign...
I never knew if this place, i do recall there used to be a few clothing/gift shops down there. It’s been over a decade since i rode the train down there though haha

Chris has anyshiner used a lighter or heater to get that fire shine? Ive seen all of your video's and iam not sure if anyone has used fire on the shoes. Great camera work by the way and Fancy socks !!!!
No way! that's a Mexico thing. I'm not sure if I would be too happy with an open flame next to my shoes. But when I visit Mexico I will definitely try it out.
