    Prince is our Mozart, he mastered over 14 instruments by age 17, he could dance, sing any note, rap, he wrote, arranged, performed ALL his music, including wrote hits for other artists, he has covered almost every genre, Metal, Punk rock, hip hop, pop, r&b, soul, jazz, blues, country, ambience, classical, techno, house, instrumental. The Multi-Genre God. He could play anything, and your favorite artists have been deeply influenced by him. Corey Taylor, Whitney Houston, Steve Vai, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Lil uzi vert, H.E.R. , Paul Mccartney, all worship Prince to just name a few.
    Prince recorded his first 2 albums at 16 all by himself, all instruments, lyrics, arrangement, composition & vocals were all by him. He was such a prodigy, that music executives wanted proof, they would fly across country just to see if he could really play all instruments, because it was so unheard of. Prince has over 50 official released albums and when he passed, they found over 10 thousand unreleased Prince music in his vault. He then came into the business and was the FIRST to fight for artists rights, and he WON. He would write "slave" on his cheek and go to meetings protesting against the industry. Prince was also the first artist to sell his music on the internet. You are talking about the most talented artist we will ever see.

    People who have listened to Prince would never compare the two. He was a genius among us. There will never be another!

    The only people that compare the two are the mainstream pop audience. People who are music nerds or musicians or people who really love music never compare the two. They may look alike because they were both deeply influenced by Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix & James Brown. If you type images of those men on google, you'll think Prince & MJ were cosplaying them. Prince is a totally different artist, he wasn't obsessed with music charts being in magazines like MJ was and later his career he did everything to stay way from mainstream media. Plus Prince created EVERYTHING he did, where as MJ had many writers and producers. They're both amazing music legends tho. Prince inspired Musicians, MJ inspired pop.

      Clowning a man who played 26 instruments, wrote and produced his own music, built his own music complex with multiple recording studios, starred in two movies and was a scintillating live performer, is weak, especially when you don't know anything about him. He's too sophisticated for you to understand.

    Michael Jackson’s music was more “accessible”. Prince was on the edge creating a new frontier.

    I never understood weekly Prince and Michael Jackson were compared so much. The world of music benefited greatly from both of them. As a musician, is have to say Prince has a more profound impact.
    As for how to choose a favourite number from such a prolific artist... Impossible.
    Adore - for the voice.
    Sometimes it snows in April - for his lyrics.
    Tambourine - for his innovative experimental fearlessness.
    His live cover of play that funky music - for his guitar playing

      100%! They are incomparable! Prince can not be touched. His musical genius and his impact on the musical community.

    • @hackapump
      @hackapump 11 місяців тому

      I think the comparison was unavoidable since both were black artists competing for the same audience - (everybody). Media can’t resist stories of conflict. And at least for a while, Prince liked to played into that narrative, gleefully serving the press the occasional nasty barb directed at Michael. But of course you’re right, their respective music represent two completely different trajectories: Michael wanted to become the greatest pop artist of all time, and so he did. Of course Prince wanted that too, until he didn’t, which was during the Purple Rain cycle, when he cut short a tour that easily could have been sold out for two years. After that visit to the top of the world, he just wanted to make the greatest music he possibly could. So he was more of an auteur, typically writing and recording a new song every day - while being the greatest musician in the room at any given time, whatever the instrument. Not saying one is better than the other, they’re just different approaches to music. They did have the utmost respect for each other though.

      Both were crazy popular artists dominating the pop scene, both were very flashy/flamboyant in their own ways and highly charismatic, and in addition to that the two had somewhat if an internal rivalry from what I understand.

    Prince was for adults; MJ was for...
    To understand the genius of Prince, try When Doves Cry (long album version), Lady Cab Driver, Condition Of The Heart, Temptation, Just My Imagination (1988 Paard van Troje), Eye Know, Anotherloverholeinyahead ... etc.

  • @oskarobit
    @oskarobit Рік тому +5

    Prince had one of the widest vocal ranges and he knew how to use it, even singing in falsetto and he could go from very low to falsetto and the other way round without a hitch; top 3 if I'm not mistaken. Some say four and a half octaves, others say more than five: Freddy Mercury had three and Michael Jackson had two to three octaves. Add that to his mastery of guitar, bass, piano, drums, knowledge of a few other instruments, writing, composing, producing and he gives us the best concerts in history. It's impossible for anyone to compare.
    Try him LIVE, specially in LA Forum, Brit Awards, Superbowl, or in the superband at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doing an ad-lib solo (no previous rehearsal) BIGGER THAN LIFE!!!!

      If Prince should bee comperes with some, for me that had to bee Freddie Mercury, Freddie had over 4 octaves, they are genius and legend both……they never met. But Freddie had a video with Prince, he loved him and could sit for over looking at that video. If someone to visit him when he was looking at this video, they had to look too, for hours…..you should see Live Aid july 13 1985, and Somebody to love Montreal -81……..there you can comperes theres voice…….he will blow your mind of……I promiss you! And Wembley july 11 -86 Who whants to live forever, that was made of Brian May, lead-guitarist for the movie Highlander…..it so incredible powerful …..you have no brean after that. I have studie Queen for years…..as you mabee understand. But mg I REALLY LOVE PRINCE TOO..WOOOW. Whos the best of them, they cant comperes….theyr so long from eachouther musicaly, but they are musicgenius and legend both! I really hope you hear at som Queen, they never go wrong like Prince, never did either🎤🎸💜❤️🎤🎹 MJ he had great voice……but I hate that he had to tuch his 🍆 all the time, very childeech and stupid…..for ME……luv

      @@kristinmelinamercury8880 it is told that Mercury "torture" the people at his parties with videos of Prince and he said thing like "this is how a show must be".
      Don't get me wrong now, I love Queen and Freddie too probably like 5 years before I knew Prince. I'm talking about circa the last 70s and early 80s. As I grew up and listen to more generes and styles, specially jazz, my love/taste for Prince got bigger and bigger. But being honest I must say that, as an artist, Prince had no rival. It's not only singing or being an "animal de escena": in Spanish and literally an animal on stage. He, Prince, can compose, play a lot of instruments easy as breath, record, produce, everything!
      When Prince did the Super Bowl Half Time Show the intro was based on "We Will Rock You".
      PA Peter Freestone
      “If Freddie stayed in during the evenings he would usually ‘veg out’ and watch television… He had one video of Prince, which he forced many people to watch, sometimes over and over again. These video sessions generally occurred at two or three in the morning after Freddie and entourage returned from an evening on the town. The Prince tape was immediately put on and Freddie had sole control of the remote and his guests were subjected to Freddie’s enthusiasm for said artist again and again and again.”

      @@oskarobit oh yes I now Freddie was nearly «tortured» the people who come to him and he was seeing at this video. And I altso knew he said «this is how a show must be» I have seen it from an interwiev ounce. I have been a huge Queen-fan seens -77. Prince I heard for the first time in the beginning of the 90’s with Cream. I’m blowing away with both Prince and Freddie. I now they nearly met, they had packed all there things for going to visit Prince, there managers had find a way so they could met eachouther Queen and Prince. This was in the period when Queen make the music to the Highlander-movie. There was a song called Prince’s of the univers, Prince find that, and refuse to meet them bec of that song 😳 from the interwiev I heard it from they said that Prince thouth the had made a song about Queen was the Princes of the univers……hmm, so derfor they don’t meet eachouther, can that bee true, do you now something about that «history» I think is very weird 💜❤️

    I don’t think you’ll find a Prince fan who can give you a single favourite song. It’s too deep a rabbit hole, too rich a body of work - the man recorded more music than he was able to release in his lifetime. But the classic stuff - the stuff of legends, the stuff that changed everything - he released between 1982 and 1990. However the albums Purple Rain (1984) and Sign O’ The Times (1987) are widely regarded the pinnacle of his career. I recommend a newcomer to start out with the Purple Rain album, or any of the singles from it - it’s what made him a superstar on the level of MJ. (That and the eponymous movie). It’s very accessible, even though it was groundbreaking too. It was his audition for a maxed out crossover audience, if you will. If that tickles you, check out what he did just three years later on the Sign O’ The Times double album. Mindblowing.

Thanks for the reaction. I would recommend Sign of the Times. Any song is great actually. Let him give his honest reaction and opinion. You may have missed when he said he grew up on MJ not Prince. So why would he know that? Don't react to Prince at all?
      What kinda bullshit is that? I hope BCP does a lot of Prince. Your negativity isn't a good look.

    You need to study more instead of being so critical of someone who is a master of his craft. It makes you appear immature. This man is a bonafide genius and deserves respect even if you don't get it. MJ and Prince however both loved, are two totally different vibes, stop comparing.

      What's wrong with you bro? He's giving his opinion and this is a reaction channel so honesty should be #1. BCP wasn't being critical anyways, what because he said he pointed ears and looked like a vampire? Makes me wonder about how much of a fan you really are because Prince may have thought that was funny. Or maybe you missed the part where he said this is his first Prince video and enjoyed MJ more. Nevertheless I find that it is you who is being disrespectful. Prince don't need you to stand up for him and he sure wouldn't like you being negative towards someone and not helpful.
      Come on man, you can be better,

      @@dragonballz4998 You are excused as I did not address this comment to you. And I'm not a bro. I said what I said, and meant it! Before one expresses an opinion, one should first become aware by listening first, then voice a reaction, not be critical. He's was an irritant with that. So, now you both know. Before you accuse me of being disrespectful, know this, I don't care. Remember to stay out of others comments, that's what is disrespectful. Indeed Prince may have found it comical, but I didn't and I'll stand up for him as much as I deem necessary, you know why?? Cause he'd do it for me. Now figure that out and mind your business.
