as soon as they showed Michelle I started to cry, I grew up watching her, Mia, Brandi, Joy, Kristine, etc. the 12 years I played competitive soccer, they were the inspiration behind it.

I always find these kinds of retrospectives deeply emotional, and the story of the US Women's team, with all they had to put up with and overcome, especially so. I've cried more than once seeing these. The 99ers ESPN special is another tearjerker.

As an American, I am really not a "rah rah USA! USA!" type; but I am incredibly impressed that our country could put together a team that was the best in the world despite soccer being not a very big sport here... And it being a HUGE sport everywhere else.
    That's some cool shit.

I cried watching this on HBO! Then I when it repeated 3hrs later on HBOw, I literally "ran home to mommy" and made her watch it...and I cried again. I can feel a tear trying to form now. Way to go girls (sniff-sniff). Damn, I can't wait to play tonight because I need to go in hard shoulder-to-shoulder, push opposition players around, and scare the $#!7 out of their goalkeeper so that maybe I can regain my manhood!!
But first I'll rewatch Dare to Dream

Women will be payed more in football when they bring in more revenue and the quality becomes better they are being payed more than the men per percentage of the revenue being brought in so women shouldn't complain especially the Women's U.S.A team being payed more money than the men's U.S.A team getting the money divided up in half from what the men's U.S.A team bring in and still keeping benefits which is ridiculous womens football will grow though football is the fastest growing sport in the world and the first women's World cup was only in 1991 so it's looking really great hopefully the other women's international teams can get the same funding or similar as the women's U.S.A team had and has and hopefully other women's football teams internationally are supported and encouraged to play football financially and politically and the women's World cup becomes alot more competitive and a higher quality.
