Grind for IJN ships especially the IJN Battleship line to Izumo.... You can look to mission list and ships/captains needed to help to speed up the progress..

Well great grind, but for yamato you can get it with bureau stages first you gonna complete the introduction to the bureau and after that is done you can choose what another project you want to activate, u got a lot of ships to choose, go for yamato and dont forget to buy some point booster ships and commanders wich boost the progress, it will take with full boost like month and half, i hop i helped you, also you should get takeo takagi commander for battleships ( IJN ones ) 🙂

This is standard mode, there's no AI at all. As about how long the waiting time is, it's about 20 seconds to 1 minute, depends on the tier
