    Your videos are awesome. Thanks so much for making these.

    Perfect! Could you make more tutorials using Freeform techniques + 3D sketching? Thaks!!! :)

      Thanks! What specifically are you looking for with 3D sketching? 3d sketch tools in Fusion are still not very mature, but maybe there is another way.

    Thanks Matt! A quick question, at around 6:10 you add an edge and you say that in box display mode a straight section like this can cause trouble. I understand the logic that two identical sections serves no purpose and we should delete the middle edge, but I fail to see what troubles it can cause down the road. Can you elaborate?

      Of course. Think about the box display as controlling the tangency and weight of the curvature. If you have two sections that are completely straight the surface is still going to try and have a curve so what you end up with is a ripple of sorts in the surface. This is because each face in the form, its curvature is partially controller by the surrounding faces. So if you have a lot of curvature around a set of faces, but then try to make a few flat you end up with an over-correction of the curvature and have a dimple. On your 375 project if you think about the tail of the body. If you try to have a set of 4 faces that are "flat" in box display there, you will most likely end up with a dimple on the rear rather than a smooth bulge.
      It is a bit hard to visualize and usually a very small amount of "shape" in the box will give you a decent result. Until you come across an example that is really easy to see it will be a hard thing to visualize. next time I come across one i'll make sure to film it.

      @@LearnEverythingAboutDesign Thanks Matt, I see now. why it can cause problem. This may explain some strange behavior I had in past projects. I will keep this rule in mind.

    Fantastic tutorial. FORMS is one of the tools in fusion where I still struggle and it's hard to find good real world tutorials.
    If I might ask how would you create a leaf with a pointy end with forms?

      Thanks Emang! I find that things with points are tricky to do. Something like Blender has edge weight control at the edge and vertex level, but we don't in Fusion. So I would probably model half of the leaf and mirror if symmetry is ok. Do you have a specific leaf in mind? A Maple leaf vs a Poplar would be extremely different to model.

      @@LearnEverythingAboutDesign thank you for your reply. Really appreciate it. I am looking into Betel leaf shape or similar. It should be asymmetrical. I tried to use the loft tool but I get weird surface artifacts at some borders

      @@LearnEverythingAboutDesign that's looks amazing!!! Not sure how you made the ends nicely rounded. Is that some tangency handle magic. Also the middle "crease" is looking really good. I will play around with the model and try to learn more from it.
      Thank you for putting your time in this 🙏🙏🙏

      No tricks. I started with a Quad Ball and deleted most of it. so i had the rounded shape. You then need to uncrease the corner points to get it smooth. Adding some extra lines near the middle helped give that stem/crease. Adding the other "feeder" lines to the leaf might be easier as surfaces rather than in the forms.
      What is your end goal with a model like this? That might help determine where to go next.

    Hi There! I have a question! Why did you use ruled? What is the difference between ruled and a simple extrude?

    • @LearnEverythingAboutDesign
      @LearnEverythingAboutDesign  Рік тому

      I can't remember :) but in general extrude just goes normal to the sketch, Ruled lets you go normal or tangent to the edge of a surface or toward a direction with or without taper

    How did you make a selection at 8:45?When i try to select them,it only selects the surface i see,and doesnt pick the rear side of the object

    • @umiturgutaswwsa
      @umiturgutaswwsa Рік тому

      I was trying to figuring out and found that if you hold alt+m key when you are selecting,it selects all of the geometry not just the front side of it.

      @@umiturgutaswwsa hi, it might be that your selection filter is not set to select through. The selection filter is someone contextual. Start edit form, then go to the select drop down on the tool ribbon. Down to Selection Filters, and make sure Select Through is checked.
