  • This video goes over the process of installing a Midnight Motorsports Fog'r 500 throttle body injection kit. This kit allows for extra fueling when running larger turbochargers than stock, as well as alleviates strain on the high pressure fuel pump during higher boost applications. I received this kit with my Frankenturbo F21bi turbos that are now on my 535xi. The whole installation should only take you about an hour to complete, depending on your car's setup.

      @@pauldube9455 Thanks for the feedback! So far no issues. The only problem I initially had was too much fuel before it was needed. So I built an adjustable injection controller to activate them at different boost pressures instead of the fixed values. Otherwise they've been pretty good.

    I don’t know much of anything, today is the first time I’ve ever heard of this mod. How much horsepower does this add? Thanks

    • @FoulNews
      @FoulNews  Рік тому +1

      This mod itself does not add any horsepower. It's for when you go with larger twin turbos or a single turbo setup and your fueling demand increases, especially if you plan on running E85 or a high E85 content mix. This allows for more boost without having to overdrive the high pressure fuel pump or without having to add port injection if your fueling demands don't require that level of fueling.

    Are you running the meth injection with the TBI?

      Yes, both are being run simultaneously.

    I thought it was 9psi and 15psi? What fuel infectors are they using? Do you have a part number?

    • @FoulNews
      @FoulNews  2 роки тому

      The kit I received came with an 11psi and 16psi hobbs switch. I don't have a part #, but they looked like Bosch EV 14 style injectors that are 250cc each. I'd reach out to Frankenturbo for specific part #'s though.

    Are the injectors just simply turned on static? No pulsing?

    • @FoulNews
      @FoulNews  Рік тому

      That is correct. No PWM for them. They open at full duty cycle when the hobbs switches see their pre-configured boost levels with the out-of-the-box configuration. I've ditched the switches and built a controller for them, that'll come out in a video later

      @@FoulNews Thank you for the quick reply. Back in the 5.0 days we used to spray fuel through nitrous plates under our blow through carbs when the carb jetting got too big for driveablility. This is basically the same thing. I am FBO N54 with upgraded turbos and the old man in me does not want to pay for PI and just add a nitrous nozzle instead. This kinda comfirms my idea.

    Any problems w it?

    • @FoulNews
      @FoulNews  Рік тому

      No issues so far. Only initial issue was too much fuel on pump gas, so I made an adjustable injector controller to change the starting points of each injector instead of the fixed hobbs switches.

      @@FoulNews what exactly did you do? & thts wat seemed like the issue w tbi..

    • @FoulNews
      @FoulNews  Рік тому +1

      @@942doc1 I built an adjustable controller that I have set for one injector to activate at 15psi and the other to activate at 23psi. That seemed to help quite a bit. Next step is to integrate automatic switching to different actuation points depending on the values from my ethanol content sensor. I'm also almost done with another controller that controls each injector by duty cycle instead of 100% duty cycle like the hobbs switches / my current controller. I'm not sure if it will make a difference or not, but I'll probably make a video on it next month.
