Motorcycle Jeans with amour and Kevlar lining used to be under $75 only 5 or 6 years ago. I'm certain that the cost of materials hasn't doubled or tripled since then. Are we motorcyclist being "taken for a ride"?
It's awesome that RevZilla has Jen on the team. It's in all motorcyclists' best interest to have maximum interest in the sport throughout the population - male and female. I really enjoy reading her articles, and I'm sure the female audience appreciates having a woman's perspective with respect to women's riding gear.

The PMJ Deux Jeans HAVE to be top of list for any guy looking for a truly skinny fit with casual looks in a single layer, AAA rated riding jean with included, adjustable armour. At around $270 CDN I bought two pair for less than one pair of two layer Rokkertech. Oh, and every pair comes with a hand made Italian leather belt.
RST kevlar pro tech jeans have been my best one. Around 200$. AAA level of abrasion protection. comes with level 2 hip and knee armor. Seems superior to the jeans in the video....
Have a pair of the Oaklands will try to pick up another at some point. Also bought some seesmart armor to replace the bulkier pads they came with for this season. I usually used them without armor previously
So my only question is, can I wear these to work, then complete a full work shift of manual labor in them? Or am I going to regret wearing riding jeans to work?

I returned the Street & Steel Oakland Jeans because there was no way to add hip armor. What's the point if you can't add hip armor, the place where you are going to slide on, and a broken hip is the worse.
6:29 is a good example of the issues I’ve been having with riding jeans, look at where the knee armor is on the model, it’s on his shins! Manufacturers don’t make them adjustable enough, a fatal flaw… 😒
I agree with you that there needs to be better adjustability built into the armour of riding gear. However, to see the knee armour below the knee while the wearer is standing is fine because when the legs are bent into the riding position the armour will likely be right where it's needed; at least that's my experience with every pair of riding pants I've owned and worn. But finding the sweet spot for that to happen can certainly be a tedious task when repeatedly taking the pants off and putting them on again to check the armour position.

@@ZildjianMan30 right. The product they're talking about HAS dyneema in it. Also it isn't possible to make fabric out of JUST dyneema, as it is so slippery the seams would fray in days of use.
As someone who has to wear a belt with my jeans I can’t express my disappointment enough in the lack of critical belt loops in the back of the jeans. Please, Please Please (manufacturer’s) add 2 more belt loops to keep my waist band from slipping below my belt. That’s the deciding factor for me and I won’t be buying any of these jeans. @RevZilla What pants would be best protection for electric unicycle riding? Cruising speed is 40-45mph. Mainly looking for hip and rear slide protection
Disappointed there's no cargo category. The Uglybros Motorpool-K was a great pant, but they've never been long lasting, and durability has only gotten worse in recent batches.

The Pandas seem nice but I'm not sure about that sizing. My regular jeans are 30x30 and my riding stuff is 30x32 to maintain coverage while on the bike. The Pandas coming in at 30x34 (literally all sizes are length 34) I think would just be too long. I don't mind hemming but I feel like the armor would sit too low to be useful.
Im pretty much the same size as you and have a pair of Pando Moto Jeans. I love them and the adjustable knee pockets help to have the knee armor sit perfect.
Trilobite parado seem, to me, better than everything they showed in this video. It has adjustable position for kneepads, stretch zones, kevlar lining, zippered vents and it is available in several colors.
I’ve been wearing lucky jeans this whole time. So far, still lucky. Although I wish I could get some real riding jeans, I cannot fathom the armor built inside. Feels too awkward in the knees when walking. Is there a jean that has the tough material without the knee padding maybe?
You gotta remember that no riding pants will protect you from the IMPACTS - the banging and bruising. That's why the impact armor is there. These protective jeans are for ABRASION resistance.
Here's the thing; fabrics, ALL fabrics, only BARELY help at keeping your skin intact. Regular denim + kevlar lasts about 2 seconds of sliding. You NEED that armor in strategic places to minimize injury in any moderate to high speed crash. The other way to go is leather chaps which will protect covered areas in a slide, but still offer no impact protection.
I had an ACL repair that required an orthopedic brace for a season of riding and had good luck wearing mine under the Street and Steel Oakland pants. They have a slight bit of stretch that makes it work. Highly recommend them from a comfort/style front, though I luckily haven't yet had a chance to test their protection.
Glad to see men's and women's selections, but would be a better video if you did all of one gender, and then the other. Half of these are never gonna fit me, so it would be nice if I could skip them altogether.
