Very in depth. One of my favorite buys of 2024. Im glad we got practice with the tyrants before the RedCat version was released. And thank goodness it was not a broken shaft!!
GUY! One thing is for certain as far as I'm concerned. The build quality on the diffs and drive train from the WOV'S and Redcats is a thing of beauty, overbuilt and and ready for action! Glad it wasn't the motor shaft! Great video brother! 💯 🤜 🤛 🔥 🔥
@@Doug_Morgan this wasn't the fastest way to the pinion this was trying to see if it was an overall damage scenario and if my chassis hole was still working and if debris was getting in anywhere else. You only need to remove one screw to pull the motor and pinion with idler gear.
In my very limited experience of owning one since the very first day offered, you gotta really F up to break anything besides those first shocks on the Valkyrie. Congrats bro, you're a special kind of guy.... maybe try the steel ball and rubber hammer next.
1:10 I bought three of your "black boxes" - HD version (data encapsulator ) and they work great. Good video. 13:13 If I remember correctly, you have said you are not really a fan of dust covers. With all the debris you found in this tear down, it would be interesting to see a comparison against using a dust cover. Just saying . . .
16:10 Looks like the idler gear shaved off some of the diff case. This almost the same as what happened to the Machete 6s. I see they changed the design a bit, and the motor mount isn't 2-piece metal plates. I don't like that the pinion sits off the end of the shaft. If the grub screw didn't shear off it would probably twist or snap the shaft. I missed the live stream, so i'm itching for the part 2 and to see if the Valkryie still holds up.
@@sethreinhard7900 I eventually will I have six sets of gears. Unfortunately I am waiting for Redcat to repair this in house and not go vitavon as I was already in communication with them in the very beginning as to why certain parts were created. Redcat is on the subject as well as a couple of extra upgrades coming down the pipeline. And yes I use talk to text so hopefully this all came out good
Awesome video mate! Love a tear down! Just wondering which hex bits your using for your drill? I keep buying cheap sh!t off amazon/ebay and they demolish my screw heads very easily! 😂😢
@@MarkJohnMorris so if it's demolishing the screw heads, does that mean the tool material is stronger than the fastener or are the tolerances for the tool you're using junk? I don't use MIP but I've had the hand drivers for years and I use them like torque sticks and those are from HoBao And the hex bit drivers I use are just Amazon specials that I file down when needed except for the yellow ones. Those seem to just work. These are the gold ones amzn.to/3ZMXmSc I broke the 1.5 cause I used it like a punch with a hammer . . . 🤣😂
Say what you want that's why I like Arrma 4s and 6s. When it breaks, it's easy to get to, choice of slipper or geared diff on 3s and 4s models. Have fun, Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and Happy New years!

What a royal pita to get down to the pinion.

@rcguygarage i think I know what it is.
Mine was doing the same noise, but it was the idler gear, it completely desintegrated
Yep, definitely went down that road so I replaced the idler gear bearings with better
