I still own the VHS tape of ET The Extra Terrestrial. The only thing that bothered me when I was a kid is that the Universal logo plays in reversed, but the entire film the Amblin logo in the end was awesome.
The film was rereleased in theaters three years after its theatrical release due to its success. As to why it took years to make it to video after its 1985 showings…I don’t know.

Amblin Entertainment’s most popular movie that had ET and Elliot as their mascots.
I have a 1988 copy too, but it has a silent WSOD followed by a moaning sound at the end.
Why did it come out 6 years after?

If only E.T. was the first film to use the Amblin logo.
My copy has the same ending.
I remember this movie.
Does anybody know why it took 6 years for the film to be released on video?
