    I started following your channel - because you weren't boasting about a six figure income. You were finding your way - and being realistic, in my eyes. Not sure if I told you, but after being terminated from Amazon KDP - I meditated about it and came to an acceptance that it was over. I let go of it and moved on. Of course, after I did that I received an email with a stern warning about titles and was reinstated. When I got back into my account I saw one new composition notebook that I had created had been banned. The title was either already in use or something. Anyway - I'm still kind of in shell shock - so I haven't created anymore low content books. I was told to read the terms and conditions - but when I'm not sure what I'm looking for, it's challenging to retain what I read, and every single rule. I'm going to stick with my children's books. I'm only running a few ads. I'm going to let them sit there and do their thing - if I make money, fabulous - if not I'm fine with that as well. I appreciate your channel.

      Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I hope to be making six figures plus with KDP someday, BUT I do NOT want to ever boast. I always want to help and inspire others. I'm so glad you get that from my channel, it means a lot to me. I do try really hard to be as transparent as possible. I also want to be realistic.
      I don't think I knew that your account got reinstated. I knew of the termination, but not everything lese I don't think. I am happy for you that you got it back! I'm sure that was an emotional rollercoaster and probably still is. Just do your best to follow the rules and double check anything you may be unsure of. I'm glad you at least got your account back. Keep it up and thank you again for your kind words and support. Good luck!

      Amazon kdp did same thing to me, they couldn't allow to send my small money on my birthday. Kdp just terminated my account on my birthday with small money on it. I have 20 publishing websites you can publish your ebooks if you want the information I will give you for free.

    I was in a kdp fb group and people were posting that they sold 3 books in a month and they got SO MUCH positive feedback and congratulations. People that are actually doing KDP and trying their best. UA-cam comments can be SO TOXIC. Like what is the value of a hateful comment, like do you have anything better to do jeez.

    • @TaylorHaselton
      @TaylorHaselton  Рік тому +1

      I love that they got positive feedback and support from the group! We all should be helping and encouraging each other. Thank you for sharing that. Comments can be toxic anywhere unfortunately. I don't understand the value of hateful or rude comments either. I get them on my channel too. I try to remember that whoever writes things like that are going through something in their own life and are just taking it out on other people. I either ignore/block or try to be kind in my response. I wish we were all kind to each other more. Thank you for your comment!

    I started in May and in August I sold my first notebook(that one notebook out of a bunch sold 13). To date I have sold 31 books. I have 148 books of all kinds. My coloring books are my faves. It takes me about a week to make one. I also started making detailed Log books and those are fun to create. Still making mistakes but the great thing is that you can go back and upload your fixed pdf files again. I'm hooked and if I actually make a lot of money that will be a bonus :) because this KDP journey has a great benefit, it has helped my mental health. That's worth a ton to me :) Good luck to everyone and don't give up.

    So similar to my experience. I started 4 months ago thinking publishing random lined journals would make me rich, sold only 6 books in the first 3 months and got sad.
    I only learned the niche and keyword research properly 30 days ago, that's when things started to progress. Also, learning how to run low budget adds was a game changer!
    Nice to see a realistic experience. It is not motivating to watch videos like "my third month on KDP royalty" with a $1500 dollars figure.
    If you got there without adds I would suggest the low budget ones like $1/day, you will sell a lot.

    • @TaylorHaselton
      @TaylorHaselton  Рік тому +1

      I think many people have a similar experience too and it's just not talked about a lot! I'm glad you are progressing and learning, that's great! Ads can definitely help your business. I did run some for a little bit, but not currently running any. I did make sales, but I'm not interested in running more right now, maybe at some point I will run them again. I'm glad this is motivating. I totally understand how discouraging it can be to see others make thousands very quickly when majority of people do not seem to make that much right away. Thank you for your comment!

I have written 3 books and I have published all 3 of my books on KDP self publishing and I have made very little money. I really don't have nothing positive to show for publishing three of my books on KDP, things has been very hard for me as a book author. Hard work tends to pay off eventually, so if this book doesn't sell then you can figure out what you need to improve on and go from there. It can take awhile for books to start selling too though. I appreciate your honesty, and not trying to over sell how "easy it is to make thousands" with KDP as most youtubers are pumping. We know they are doing that to get clicks, and make money on youtube, which is their real income generator. It is totally possible to come out swinging with your books and make some money though. My first book came out last month, and made $180. Obviously a handful of those sales were friends and family excited to support my first coloring book release. They helped sell me to their friends and family as well though, and I got 13 5-star reviews from that in the first month. I released my 2nd book a few days ago, and the first is still selling this (2nd month). I'm not going to make $180 because I'm not pushing as hard for friends and family to buy my books anymore. That is not sustainable, however, I still sold over $71 so far in the middle of November. $100-$200 a month doesn't have to take a year, but it does take planning. I hope to scale this to $500-$1000 within 1 year. That is the goal!

    My high content book was on kdp for almost a year, started making some random sales here and there and more towards Q4. I started advertising in January this year and have been profiting about 150$/mo from that book. Personally I think low content books are not the way to do it. But it costs less for sure.

    • @TaylorHaselton
      @TaylorHaselton  6 місяців тому +1

      I believe that everyone is different and there isn't 1 way to be successful at Amazon KDP. There are people making thousands with low-content as well as all types of books probably. High content isn't really what I excel at right now when it comes to sales, but low-content I am better at. If you are better at high content then that is totally fine. Congratulations on the success! I don't run ads right now, but some people do on low-content. It is very hard to compare and I try not to because we all have different books and not everyone runs ads.

I’m still researching with 5 ebooks to start.
