I had a P0306 (cylinder 6 misfire) that was driving me crazy! Just watched your video about checking for bent pins in the spider injector plug. Well guess what? I had one bent pin on the number 6 cylinder and I GENTLY straightened it with needle nosed pliers. Runs SMOOTH now. No more misfire. Thank you for sharing this information. Saved me a bunch of headaches not to mention $$$.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO. I have been working on my 99 Tahoe for days and couldn’t solve the issue. I have no idea how I did it but I had the EXACT same pin bend. Straightened it and now it runs great. Without your video, doubt I would have figured it out. What a coincidence that 2 people would happen to do the same thing. Thanks again!

I’ve installed new spider injector and notice a miss fire after installed. I’ve done everything plugs and wires, intake gaskets. Coil ,distributor. Maf sensor and map sensor. After watching your video it was a bent pin on the number 2 cylinder just like yours was bent I bent it back now it runs like new. You save me a lot of more headache. Thanks and god bless you.

I replaced the spider injectors on my 98 Silverado 5.7 about 7 yrs ago. After I put it back together, I had the same problem. As I was taking it back apart, I also noticed one of those prongs were bent. After straightening it out and putting everything back together, it fixed it... May check to be sure the pin on the spider injector isnt bent if not, make sure you are getting spark to that cylinder from the plugs. Make sure plug wires has a good solid connection. Could also check to be sure that injector on that cylinder is spraying good an not clogging up. Check for corrosion to the harness to the spider. Last but least compression Check on that cylinder or could do that first.. If everything checks out to be ok may have something going on with the computer. Hope this helps

@@MrBillybathgate5 yes you'll have to replace the whole spider. Be careful with the plug on the new one cause they are so easy to bend. If one of the prongs bend on the new. It will also throw a misfire code. If for some reason all is well with the injectors an you still throw a misfire code on 3 check the compression. Which that would be the first thing id check an should have done on this truck. Its easy an simple. If all compression is to spec. Then the injectors would be the thing id replace.

If your chasing a misfire on a 5.7 vortex after having your head replaced especially if it's a 1996 model for cracking make sure that they are truck heads and not Suburban if they are Suburbans they take a different spark plug made by AC Delco I believe it's an RT 41. I chased a damn obscure Miss in mind for the better part of six months and just out of frustration I threw these plugs in it and Bing Bang Boom the damn Miss fire is gone finally.

Then po300 code MULTIPLE misfire not random don't know if there's a difference between the two. Changed the cap unhooked battery and light stayed off for about 150 miles. If the readings are different possible cats are clogged. If they reading the same may just be 02 sensors acting up. Another way you can drill a small hole in the cats an see if there is any restriction from the front of them to the back. So basically you would need to drill a hole in the exhaust in front of the cat check air flow. Then plug that hole an drill one to the rear exhaust behind the cat an check that air flow if the airflow is restricted. Then you have clogged cats. Couple ways to test it.

Replaced the maf sensor, still misfire. So i had a shop do a diagnostic test, and he determined it was the fuel injection. I ended up doing it myself because i didn't have the $850 to pay😏. So i got everything installed, new injectors, fuel filter. Plugs cap and rotor look ok. Started it up, seemed like it ran good for like a minute or so till it started to misfire again like i never did anything to it. 😫 it has about 198K miles on it. After removing the coil pack to keep It from starting. Or rotate by hand. Mark your where your rotor is facing which should be facing driver side #1 cylinder. Mark the position of the distributor. Pull it and the new distributor should drop in. Make sure you put engine assembly Lube on the splines of the bottom gear.

@@roostercogburn2365 like I try to tell ppl including my own friends. Chevy did wonders for their engines. They put more thought process for hp and reliability. But they skipped out on everything else. Now, if they would have put that same thought process in hp and reliability as they would of the entire truck or car they would of probably beat Ford in the long shot... thing with Ford they built their vehicles to work hard they put the thought process in everything in certain vehicles. Not going to say all because they have some that are trash like the f150 and their 5.4 triton engines.. but as far as it being used as a work truck like when they put the thought in the Ranger they topped it...

They made those rangers indestructible damn near. I still have mine and still looks just as good. The other thing chevy cheaped out on is their paint. If you compare a chevy to a box car. It's like putting in a 454 in a box and driving it. Lol although ford did also build performance as well they also didn't skip leg day 🤣

Maybe all talk but I'm explaining a misfire problem that can be fixed if somebody is changing out a spider injector on these engines. Thanks for watching.

@Ed Al thank you for watching, I'll keep explaining for those that wants to learn something. You keep watching those videos that don't talk at all and don't explain nothing. Have a nice day.

@Ed Al if you paid attention I would have made a video on how to do the spider injector on this truck. But I was in a rush to get it done. So I made a video explaining the issue and how I fixed it. To help those that may run into the same issue. Take me with a grain of salt if you already know how to fix something no need to watch these videos. If not shut the hell up and pay attention you might learn something

Sounds like “saved by grace through faith” could reciprocate that grace given you explained you wish you had done a video on changing out the spider injectors. Thanks for sharing what you found.
