For some wondering, horse riding isn’t a GCSE alone in most schools, it’s part of PE, I found that out later, as I chose PE either way and then found out you can do horse riding as one of your 3-4 sports. Taking horse riding doesn’t depend on school but on the exam board, I know OCR and Edexcel both do horse riding.
You have such a good seat and he has such a flowing canter! He is so responsive that is a really amazing horse fitted with a brilliant rider well done.
I really hope that I can do gcse horse riding but I don’t as both my horses really struggle to do alot of this stuff as they aren’t built for dressage ❤️ this was really helpful I pick my options in under 2 days ❤️
I would of chosen GCSE pe and done horse riding however my horse has mild arthritis so she can’t jump over 1 metre or 90cm courses but she can do everything else’s apart from getting excited about everything we do 😂❤️
What’s the written exam like for This GCSE? And do you know if you can do it on its own or if you have to combine it with other sports too (sorry for the late questions would ask my teachers but I am homeschooled)
Katharine Asher so basically it’s part of PE (physical education) GCSE. You choose (I think) 3 sports as the physical part of the examination and horse riding was one of those three for me alongside netball and circuit training. And then there’s a written examination surrounding PE in general. Hope this helps.
Haii Florence, i'm in year 9 and gonna pick my options soon, is it just some schools that do GCSE horse riding or is it every school? Also, do i just ask my PE teacher on my options evening on the 5th December 2017?
I'm going into year 10 and I asked my pe teacher if I could do horse riding as a gcse and he said that there is a course that people can do for horse riding. But just ask :)
I know this was posted ages ago but I’m in year 8 and picking my options a bit after I go back from holidays and my school does horseriding but I don’t really know which pe course to take. Would I be better off asking my teacher? Xx
Leg yield is different to half pass. As half pass is when the horse crosses over where as leg yield is a lot softer where they're hindend is engaged but still moving with your leg
You're such a flawless rider and your horse is gorgeous 😍
Your an amazing rider. He looks like he loves what he does and who does it with him
Jorja Scorer was your so right👍🏻

My school didn't allow horse riding, it'd better to just as your PE teacher x
Definitely ask your teacher!
A tiny bit late of a reply, but i talked to her and she said no :/ But it doesn't matter, i chose my options anyway :D thanks for replying!
sooner is better than later

What board did you do?
Do u have. 2. B able to. Trot with. 1. Hand
Do you need to jump that specific hight? X
Madelaine Carter I'm pretty sure they won't mind if your jumping like an 80 course x

Hi, I believe the PE course has changed from when I did it so I wouldn't have a clue now. Sorry x
What exam board did you do??
What's a leg yield and how do you change rein and on the diagonal
Did you groom him/her before the video or do you not groom him before you ride?
yes but didn't need to be included in the video
I always put the bridle on first in case the horse bolts and if he does the saddle won’t hurt him or slip
fair enough
What's the second song called?
How do you do gcse pe horse riding? Do you get a horse riding school involved with normal school or?
no you don't, you just make a video of you riding but theres a specific list of things you have to include in your video.
do u hvae to do everything in that video or is there options?? xx
Florence Molloy Eventing where can you find the list
What does GCSE stand for???
General certificate of secondary education
What exactly is GSCE riding?
GCSE
part of a PE GCSE, i chose it as one of my 3 sports
Look fab flo x
did you pass?
yep!
Where did you go for the xc schooling? X
Is it Aston le Walls? X
There are two different xc schooling sessions included in this. The first venue was Lyneham Heath and the second (on a surface) was Aston Le Walls x
Florence Molloy Eventing thank you :) x
nice horse but not proper leg yeild

Fair comment. I only compete at novice level so leg yield is just a work in progress at home when I'm training with my instructor.
Yes it is lol
what mark did you get
Equestrian Mad Molly full marks and A* in PE overall x
Florence Molloy Eventing well done ! 😀
yay !!!
