I just experienced this for the first time on PC now that it's localized. Holy shit.
If you want to have some fun, play a Techer and blast Zondeel's near the tower to pull the smaller 'boss' monsters away from it and laugh as they try to run towards it in vain as you slam them with Wand Focus/Lovers.

@@MrBishop153 Techer is what happens when the support class gets tired of getting picked on and buys a taser.
@NetsuPlays Zumiuran is my current nuclear taser, with a bunch of Cless Diggers until I can get the other elemental clubs. I really appreciate the ability to color code beatdowns.
It's amazing how when the first time i did this, i just sat there playing with my mouth wide open as i realized i was playing through the scenes i saw in the intro of the game, which just blew my mind. The amount of awesomeness that i saw was just amazing, scenes, fights, music...ah i just want to play through it again.
And now you know why I love doing the TD missions.
Ahh, 8 years later and this still slaps.

Mining Base Despair is easily my favorite PSO mission in all of the many games' history. And that takes a lot - it overthrows Olga Flow Phase 1, simply because of the madness and energy involved in the quite literal war for survival.
Nothing quite like seeing an army coming, pulling out an AIS and just giving them absolute UNBRIDLED HELL FOR THEIR EFFORTS.
I remember my first run of this. Was not expecting the extra waves, and when I heard Hunar's theme in the last one, my first reaction was... "Oh...hell."
Hunar theme is cause to just go ahead, give up, and disconnect. lmao
I find tower defence missions are usually terrible but this? Wow SEGA, this mission...it does everything right - the music, the mechanics, and the way a team that doesn't DEFEND instead of running of to attack everything will get overwhelmed pretty quickly about mid-wave 7.
But every time I get to the last bit of wave 8, and there's only one tower left...nothing beats the feeling of that last desperate push to stop the darkers destroying the last tower as Dark Vibrace's theme plays in the background...Seriously SEGA, you guys rock
SEGA doesn't rock they won't release this game to the west, it's always "delayed"
+Yuki “YuTsu” Tsuki While I praise them for making this so well done, I still hate them on the fact that they've NEVER localized this game, thus us relying on other methods in playing the game ourselves. Even worse is that they pretty m uch abandoned us by constantly blocking us from trying to play, despite the fact they they said YEARS ago that they are working on localizing it and nothing else despite how many times we asked them for any further news as the years went by. >_>
Beth Masey I think that most US players would not appreciate the game unless it is call of duty. If you play on JP servers then you still get to play which is great
This is probably my favorite mission in any online game ever. The music helps, this track is absolutely phenomenal.

The adrenaline pumping when you're at the last tower at low at the last wave and everyone's spamming everything.
And by 'spamming everything' we mean spamming insults, blaming each other for why the towers are down and how you're not going to get S-rank :p

really surprised this turned out so well. I might try recording Magatsu's EQ theme because its pretty great. Mining base despair is one i try to catch whenever i can make the scheduled runs! I play on ship 8 if anyone was wondering

And gotta say zangor15 MPA doing great, they finish the run in 23:33 and total 25:05 mean they have more than 4 minute left to start second run.

it was so wierd recording this because i was doing the EQ but everything except the BGM was turned off. its still a very fun EQ but its so fast paced you dont get to sit there and take all of this in. The transitions and new wave stuff is so amazing Sega really did a good job here!

when its time for mining base i set my bgm to max volume and everything else to 0
I still remember when I play the TD first time, and then see the Wave 6, 'WTF!?'
And the bgm is so epic, makes me feeling that I must kill that Beetle asap.
"Final Wave" ends. Shit then gets real.
The first time I did TD3, I got caught off guard expecting it to last 6 waves like usual, but when I didn't hear the usual music and heard something new, I knew we were fucked. Lost 3 towers and I thought we barely made it until wave 7 happened and the MPA got overrun fast.

Same thing pretty much happened to me. We were barely making it and I was thinking it was almost over when wave 4 hit.
TheNeoVariable Mistake #1 was thinking there were only 4 waves. All the TD's have 6 waves, with TD3 actually having 8 waves.
Chris Zellogi I didn't think there were only 4 waves I said i thought it was almost over while doing TD3 for the first time. Still kinda a mistake in thinking that even still we had 1 or 2 barely functioning towers.

The results music reminds me of Serious Sam. I just expect a bunch of "AAAAAAAAAH" suicide bombers running out from the desert xD. Great work recording this!
Holy this was such an anxiety inducing OST, intense from start to finish not even the resting phases are relaxing, you gotta survive if you want that sweet relaxation at the end
I get chills ever time a wave starts thanks to this masterpiece.
Considering PSO2 was released after the first Valkyria Chronicles, I kind of expected them to have good music.

This entire thing is so powerful. It makes most other games' final boss themes seem like a piece of shit compared to this. Fuck the battle to save the world, this music makes it seem like the fabric of existence is being threatened and you and 11 other people have to save it.
Chris Zellogi it works really well with the stage it plays on. You are there first hand, witnessing the onslaught of an entire planetary invasion force upon your small platform, and each round gets more and more hopeless as your meager defenses are beaten down and ever more impossibly large and powerful foes appear before you. In most cases victory and defeat come right down to the wire.
WrathOfTheNooB I've been a part of both winning and losing teams, and strategy and knowing when to AIS is key, as well as prioritizing your targets. If you never kill the Sorze Brahdas, they'll just spawn darker towers forever, which will make quick work of your bases.

Honestly it kinda is with [Apprentice]'s Darkers attacking the mining rigs for the purpose of freeing her from the machine that constantly grinds her down(which is what the ARKS are 'mining' and why Darker Matter is spewing out of the smokestacks.

I love this game, and I especially love this mining defense music. I used to play with two friends, the two friends who got me into PSO back on the gamecube. We would skype, and play this together for hours, the mining defense were my favorite part of this, just before it started, I would turn down all the sound effects and just listen to the music. It would be to the point where I would be memorized by the song so much I wouldn't be able to hear my friends calling for backup.
We'll never get an official western release will we. :'(

I played this once with a friend (well I've played a lot of this with said friend, but whatever, story time) and he borderline solo'd the defenses on a tower using only Talis, Zondeel, and I think it's Safoie. It was pretty magical to witness. I think I should build up a good Talis for TDing. Just from watching him, it looks like an almost mandatory set for a mage character (fo/te or te/fo). He'd hold the entire wave coming toward that tower with the Zondeel, then let the Hunters and Bravers and whatall just lay into them while he held them there. And if no one was available for assistance, Safoie em.

wave 3 is when things starts to go downhill if you cant stop ringahda and malluda
yep basically wave 3 onward you need to have 1-2 AIS out or you wont make it.
zangor15 though when boss comes it is recommend when use AIS 2 use the photon cannon on them since u will get another chance later though it best kill the bosses sooner 2 deal with the small mobs or else mostly bigger 1s like zesh -.-
Back when the SEA server existed i remember this is my favorite EQ. One of the best tower defend segments i ever played. When i was a noob my role was to mostly loot crystals since the more powerful players are busy tanking agro from the bosses. Then when its time you can ride the AIS just to even the playing field and say "HEY! I might be a noob but its my turn to carry!"
In the JP server im not a noob anymore but AIS is still my oshi

I totally recommend the jp servers, boat loads of more content. Just get the tweaked for English patches
Wave 7 is really just the best part ever~ though Dark Vibraces theme kind of annoys me because it sounds very harsh sometimes

My most favorite quest, without teamwork, I guaranteed you failed this quest. TD 1 and 2 don't required some serious strategy, but not this.

Just completed one of these. I was much lower level than most of my team so I stuck to healing and attacking when able. It was very satisfying tearing into the boss with my turret though

I'm not a huge fan of the mining base UQ; I just do it to get the experience but the music is pretty cool.
I love it, it's intense and you can actually fail if your team doesn't work together

Hi i know its been years. But is this a bgm of your playthrough? Cuz its too long. Im kinda confused. I kinda need the normal playthrough edition and not the extended edition 🤔
This is a normal playthrough version. I turned off all game sounds except the BGM and recorded it. This emergency quest is years old now but it was between a 20-30 minute run back then (its a bit faster now) but the quest has several waves that last about 3-5 minutes and the music changes throughout in sometimes big sometimes subtle ways. And they add layers to the music depending on if a player is using an A.I.S or not. Hope that helps.

this is still the old best EQ with best BGM, 1 run on this EQ is 25-30 mins
