You did very well there Bob. Great price on the Meters. It must go for more. I'm also on the lookout for more of their stuff. Have the first on Josie but that's it. Nice that its clean which is tough with the Meters. Great grab on that Neil too. I do like it but I agree as most do, it's not his best. though i think it suffers from the production and extra layers they were putting on there. Over produced and the strings don't come off well. That said there are some great moments like The Loner and Last Trip To Tulsa. Plus it does have an odd psych folk vibe happening. Take care!
Great as usual . I collect all those Verve twofers. They are wonderful sets and most of them were cut by Robert Ludwig. I’m a huge fan of that first Neil Young album as it reminds me like it could have been the next Buffalo Springfield. What could have been. Cool you found that Meters ✌🏻
That’s prolly an accurate guess as to where the buffalo would have roamed Mazzy. I think the album is good but I can’t help but to compare it to what would come immediately after… cheers my friend .

I really hope Craft releases the Kevin Gray Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus as a single LP. I don't like it enough for the One Step or the 3xLP deluxe version

I was 17 and it completely knocked me out, it sounded so different and original to anything else at the time. Would be interested to know how much Otis Redding’s Pain in my Heart English U.K. Atlantic label, first album is worth now, which I also have?

I didn’t even know much about the Meters or “Fire on the Bayou” 8 years ago.. all I knew was their song “Cissy Strut” from it being in the classic Tarantino movie “Jackie Brown”!! Anyway, I was diggin’ at a antique shop nearby in Athens, GA, and I took one look at that glorious cover and thought that the music had to be “Fire” as well.. another gentleman was beside me and said you need to take that home if you don’t have it, I said thank you sir I guess I will have to do that, and wow I’m glad he convinced me even more on taking it home.. in addition it was only $25 NM vinyl, but only VG cover!!! Enjoy!

Black Orpheus in my opinion is one of the greatest jazz records of all time. Do you need a 3 LP set of this record or one step? No, however we have seen many great jazz records getting audiophile treatment and this one deserves that same treatment.

That Meter’s record is a awesome find, I have the Music on Vinly release from a few years back. It has one extra album of bonus tracks that are very good. I saw you passed up on a Roy Ayers Ubiquity album titled He’s Coming. Not sure if it was a reissue but that’s hard album to find, I have the reissue of it. ✌️
Excellent video. I did something similar with Black Orpheus and grabbed a second press VG+ for $15 bucks off Discogs after Craft's Small Batch and 3-LP announcement -- I'm set with this copy. And nice Bill Evans two-fer and Meters pickups! -- Mike
Yeah mike, the copy I’ve got looks VG+ but is carrying on pretty good… I’m gonna clean it within an inch of its life and see if I can get it to improve :) cheers

That Meters is an awesome 👌 find ... Never had it traded in when I was managing a new/used store in Los Angeles. Pick-up The Black Album by The Damned if you see the 2 LP version. They do a " Prog " track called Curtain Call on the 2nd disc & it's pretty brilliant. ✌️
I know UA-cam is begging you guys to do 'shorts' because they're scared of TikTok, but an endless stream of flipping through 10 records with no context is not good content, and they're just clogging up my que, like too much cheese in the intestinal tract.
