Am I the only one who preferred the graphics in Mafia 2? Mafia 3 has a weird highlighting effect to the cars, the draw-distance feels terrible and the physics just do not compare... I personally feel that Mafia 3 is a massive let down to what could have been a fantastic game.
It's just Mafia 1 and 2 structured their missions so the open world part wasn't all there. You went on mission to mission but the game had all these side distractions that really brought life to the sandbox. The game treats missions like a campaign contrast to GTA where a mission ends, you can explore the sandbox to get to the next mission. Mafia 1 and 2 had you strictly go mission to mission in a sandbox. The free roam part is more felt when you beat the game so you can access free mode.

Because I have the impression that developers now care less or nothing for us, is that I see this and I can not help but amaze me with so many details that Mafia II has and this new game not have and is inevitable for me to feel that those developers put love into the game and they did so thinking of us while now only seek our money
As far as I know, Mafia II was made by 2K Czech and Mafia III was made by Hangar 13 in USA. That's your quality difference right there. So Mafia III was made by other guys and because I live close to the original team HQ, I know they had little saying in the game direction. And yeah, now it's only about the money....
Mafia 2 was made by the original Czech team. Mafia 3 was made by an American studio which thinks seems to think that injecting toxic American politics into their game and pushing some progressive agenda is more important than gameplay, graphics and story.
Brutal Espard Mafia 3 does not belong to the series at all. If it is good or not doesn't even matter. Its simply not a Mafia- game but yet another unoriginal shooter with splatter effects in brutal killing scenes and some driving in between. The Mafia- games on the other hand had a certain elegance, a wonderful story (especially the first game!) and no vulgarities or sexism. The amount of interactivity in Mafia 3 just make it feel like a large playground. With the past instalments however, it really feels like you're living in a city and you're a part of it because all these little details are so interactive and minute.

Wow talk about biased. You literally only showed negative things for Mafia 3 and positive things for Mafia 2. You didn't show how realistic Mafia 3 is in terms of people. Like how there are people who can witness crimes now. Or how you can't go into certain stores or restaurants because you're black or that you can now shoot out of your car. You also didn't mention the problems that Mafia 2 had and Mafia 3 improved on. it's more difficult. Plus you can save your money. And you have a more variety of weapons and new ones. I just recently got to play it and I was extremely impressed with the cloth physics and physx for a 6 year old game, those effects could pass off as current games (which many games now still lack)
One thing I have to disagree with is the winter part. Mafia 3 took place in Louisiana, which has a pretty humid climate that gets especially warm even in autumn. Snow isn't exactly a common occurrence in the southernmost portions of the US.

Сквозь них можно проехать 4) Птицы, животные (кошки и тд.) хз если в М3, но посмотреть стоит и тд)
помню в Мафии 1 была фича с падением с высоты. Если просто сойти с высокого обьекта и упасть, то можно разбиться. Но если разбежаться и прыгнуть вниз, то останешься целым и здоровым) И ещё, в Мафии 1 были другие интересности. Можно было заехать на машине/зайти пешком в стену текстуры и прыгнуть вниз в неизвестность. В миссии, где нужно было убить политика винтовкой Мосина можно спуститься с крыши дома, где ломаются стропила, по стене. Персонаж медленно спускается залипнув в стенке, главное бежать в её направлении. Спасибо за хорошие воспоминания.
That's not nitpicky, a video game that is the evolution of the previous one should NOT be a GTA skin with deleted features compared to the previous one... That's all these little details that brings a video game to life. Otherwise, you just end up with an empty shell that you don't even want to play... I'm going to do mafia II again I presume, this is so sad that they destroyed yet another franchise with that quick cash grab... (not even talking about horrendous PC port version...)
i would have been ok if they took another 6months to polish the game and add all the little things that Mafia 2 had... well i guess it is now up to the mods to give us what we want...

I really liked Mafia 3's story don't get me wrong, I beat it today. But I wish they didn't trade in an amazing narrative for a decent open world. I've beaten Mafia 2 around 17 or 18 times because the story was fantastic. I didn't mind the lack of an open world. In Mafia 2, every mission was so different and there were little things you could do like open and close windows, own your own apartment/house, keep cars in your garage, etc. Mafia 3 had some cool missions like the boxing ring, but most of them were the same thing and got a little repetitive. I just get a different feeling when beating Mafia 2. A huge part of it was amazing characters like Joe, Henry, Eddie, Leo, etc. Also the bad guys: Luca, Carlo, Clemente, Derek and Steve, Brian O'Neil, all of them. It was like it a journey of a lifetime coming to an end. Overall, 3 was fun and I enjoyed it, but 2 still remains king.
Mafia 2 just had a lot more fun, diverse and memorable moments. Having your house burned down, going to prison, robbing a jewelry store, blowing up a hotel, trying to get Leo out of his house safely, being stealthy to rob the gas stamps from the federal reserve, listening to Joe all the time, getting drunk and having to bury a body out of town... I could go on all day! I just feel Mafia 2 had a better narrative because that was mostly 2k Czech's only focus.
Supposedly there will be an update later this month that will add a lot of stuff like in Mafia 2. Like Getting Gas, Getting Tickets, outfits, races, eating in places, and etc. Honestly yes, it's bullshit that it didn't come with the release but at least we're getting it. And the fact that all the missions are literally the same missions over and over and over again but only in different areas is so sad.
Maybe a little bit. Just because it ruined any kind of hope that we'll see Vito and Joe doing what they do best again. And Mafia 3 ruined it even more especially with the multiple endings and shit.

People just hate the fact that it was so promising compared with 1, but was spoiled in terms of gameplay, freedom open world and overall depth replayability etc when they could have done all that as good as they did with mafia 1, but with better graphics and better cars better world. It's the reason I loved Mafia 2 so much. It's a masterpiece! Truly hats off for 2K Czech for creating such a game at the time of it's release. Ok, GTA had way more subtle details present but that's it. Nothing else came close to that. Then Mafia 2 happened.

В 3 часть Линкольн может попросить помощников лейтенантов прекратить погоню полиции через гарнитуру. Каждый раз бежать в телефонной будке больше не требуется.

How is GTA V relevant here? Mafia III sucks on it's own merits. Just because it's not as bad as GTA V (which you're wrong about, but let's say you're not) in some aspects doesn't make it good. It's ugly, it's a downgrade from both it's predecessors, and the PC port is frankly monstrous. I have a GTX 970 and I can't hold 26 FPS on Low. Yeah it has a good story. But if I wanted nothing but a good story I would've bought a damn book.

If you think any of the Mafia games are realistic, you need to go outside more. FYI it is perfectly possible to jump out of a moving car and survive. Hell there are people who've been thrown out through the windshield and survived almost unscratched. It depends on a lot of things (the speed of the car, the surface you land on, etc).

I'm really disappointed with Mafia 3. It's still a great game but it's missing too much.

One thing I have to disagree with is the winter part. Mafia 3 took place in Louisiana, which has a pretty humid climate that gets especially warm even in autumn. Snow isn't exactly a common occurrence in the southernmost portions of the US.

помню в Мафии 1 была фича с падением с высоты. Если просто сойти с высокого обьекта и упасть, то можно разбиться. Но если разбежаться и прыгнуть вниз, то останешься целым и здоровым) И ещё, в Мафии 1 были другие интересности. Можно было заехать на машине/зайти пешком в стену текстуры и прыгнуть вниз в неизвестность. В миссии, где нужно было убить политика винтовкой Мосина можно спуститься с крыши дома, где ломаются стропила, по стене. Персонаж медленно спускается залипнув в стенке, главное бежать в её направлении. Спасибо за хорошие воспоминания.

I think the point of the video(s) is comparing the attention to detail of both games, which Mafia 3 apparently lacks.
That's not nitpicky, a video game that is the evolution of the previous one should NOT be a GTA skin with deleted features compared to the previous one... That's all these little details that brings a video game to life. Otherwise, you just end up with an empty shell that you don't even want to play...
I'm going to do mafia II again I presume, this is so sad that they destroyed yet another franchise with that quick cash grab... (not even talking about horrendous PC port version...)

I really liked Mafia 3's story don't get me wrong, I beat it today. But I wish they didn't trade in an amazing narrative for a decent open world. I've beaten Mafia 2 around 17 or 18 times because the story was fantastic. I didn't mind the lack of an open world. In Mafia 2, every mission was so different and there were little things you could do like open and close windows, own your own apartment/house, keep cars in your garage, etc. Mafia 3 had some cool missions like the boxing ring, but most of them were the same thing and got a little repetitive. I just get a different feeling when beating Mafia 2. A huge part of it was amazing characters like Joe, Henry, Eddie, Leo, etc. Also the bad guys: Luca, Carlo, Clemente, Derek and Steve, Brian O'Neil, all of them. It was like it a journey of a lifetime coming to an end. Overall, 3 was fun and I enjoyed it, but 2 still remains king.
Mafia 2 just had a lot more fun, diverse and memorable moments. Having your house burned down, going to prison, robbing a jewelry store, blowing up a hotel, trying to get Leo out of his house safely, being stealthy to rob the gas stamps from the federal reserve, listening to Joe all the time, getting drunk and having to bury a body out of town... I could go on all day! I just feel Mafia 2 had a better narrative because that was mostly 2k Czech's only focus.
Supposedly there will be an update later this month that will add a lot of stuff like in Mafia 2. Like Getting Gas, Getting Tickets, outfits, races, eating in places, and etc.
Honestly yes, it's bullshit that it didn't come with the release but at least we're getting it. And the fact that all the missions are literally the same missions over and over and over again but only in different areas is so sad.

I was really impressed with how much details or options they gave you to do in mafia 2 compared to mafia 3 because those little details are what really impress people not just the gameplay itself.

Val Крч м3 конечно параша, нокак утилизация машин может быть плюсом? В гта3 была утилизация машин, а в ни одной последующей части не было. Потому что это нахуй не нужно. Ну про возможность снимать трубку положить обратно это без комментариев. А зима была частью развития сюжета, что бы показать временные скачки, было бы глупо повторятся.
трубка может помочь прекратить преследование полиции, а утилизация машин в гта 5, например, была заменена продажей этой машины в лск или вывоз ее в доки к Симону
+ult1matum во 2 мафии за утилизацию ты получаешь деньги.
В 3 часть Линкольн может попросить помощников лейтенантов прекратить погоню полиции через гарнитуру. Каждый раз бежать в телефонной будке больше не требуется.

How is GTA V relevant here? Mafia III sucks on it's own merits. Just because it's not as bad as GTA V (which you're wrong about, but let's say you're not) in some aspects doesn't make it good.
It's ugly, it's a downgrade from both it's predecessors, and the PC port is frankly monstrous. I have a GTX 970 and I can't hold 26 FPS on Low.

FYI it is perfectly possible to jump out of a moving car and survive. Hell there are people who've been thrown out through the windshield and survived almost unscratched. It depends on a lot of things (the speed of the car, the surface you land on, etc).
