- Kanawha Falls is located on the Kanawha River alongside US 60, in Glen Ferris, West Virginia. The falls is only 15' high, but it is very wide. The falls is broken into a number of distinct sections, depending on the water levels. There is a low dam above the falls.

Always like seeing moving water, and there was plenty here. Wonder if this was due to all the flooding in W.VA over the past few weeks. I see some buildings and wonder if they were at one point "hydro-electric" stations, or "grist mills" ? I also noted the red buoys which sectioned off an area ... for swimming? (didn't see any swimmers). The water is running fast, and I always wonder how safe it would be to drink such water? I'm sure animals and birds do, but probably best to carry one of those camper's water purifiers if you were going to try. Lots of good stuff to see your videos .. always so scenic. Good shoot! That is a hydo-electric plant, which I believe is still in operation. That's why the bouys are there, to keep the boaters out of their intake area. I'd think any river takes runoff from roads, ditches, etc... Thus I wouldn't be drinking it myself... hehehe... The main part of the flooding was further South, where we we heading actually. But we never did see to much damage, just one small section near White Sulphur Springs...

Thanx Sir Slayer!!! I wish I had the ability to burn more than one battery here, as I would have come up with many more ways to enjoy the Falls, but we had 3 more destinations on the route, and only 5 batteries in tow... This was our first stop...
