Shaun, I agree. Ian Brown thinks & senses differently to most people. Just look at what he does. The product of an unconventional mind. I wonder if faith is part of it? I’m a scientist & Browny /Brownie called it pretty much spot on, long before it was strictly possible to know. Further, as someone brought up outside any faith, I’ve been drawn to it by the evil I face every day. Anyway, I’ve called deeply in love with Mr Ian Brown’s works. Bloody Manc Magnum Opus.
Vocals are great on this gig , Ian’s always been my favourite front man if any era , so fucking cool , such a nice humble lad as well , met and spoke him a few times , really nice guy
Ian Brown was such an icon back then. I used to wear baggy pants and walk on the spot at raves thinkin i was just like him lol. I see hear he is doing a kind of mime mimicking. I reckon hes gettin that from david bowie who did it a lot in the ziggy era.
I was in the crowd. I remember it was the World Cup and he went down to the front row and took an England flag off someone, brought it onstage, held it up and everyone cheered. Then he tried to set it on fire with his cheap disposable lighter and it just wouldn't burn at all. Quite a few people in the crowd started booing. He kept trying for ages but the flame kept going out and then he gave up. I remember feeling a bit embarrassed for him.... I also remember really enjoying his set after loving his first two albums and being the first time I'd seen him live I didn't notice at all how awful the vocals were which is pretty strange watching this now. Also met him briefly backstage and he was a really lovely, humble guy. Can't believe it was over 20 years ago now...!
@@vanman757 haha just an honest review I guess! Balancing my thoughts and memories from the time against watching this video 20 years later. @@ricjuk saw Ian live at Brixton O2 Academy a couple of weeks ago... Last UK tournee people and journalists all over Europe have been calling the tour as a bad karaoke joke. Ian Brown's solo material just proves he was the most talented member of the Roses. Hope he starts touring with a full band including aziz again.
C'mon, John has a good amount of talent too.
Not the MOST talented, but certainly up there, he holds his own as a solo artist and was the most successful probably after the roses split.
