I may not have accomplished much in my life and I don’t have any big achievements, no legacy to leave behind, but I’ve made my peace with that. What matters to me is knowing I’ve helped someone, even in a small way. If I can leave this world knowing I made a difference to just one person, then maybe my life wasn’t so meaningless after all.

Before my mother died, she treated me like trash. She was very angry, exuded superior attitude, narcissist, self centered wicked witch. She had nothing nice to say about her children, her deceased husband of 70 year marriage who supported her. I kissed her good bye anyway. I wasn't there for her final breath. I choose not to do that to anyone in my orbit when I'm near death. I will encourage and be grateful to those around me.

Just want to remind you about the most most important decision we need to make before we die, and that is to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. I just wanted to let you know a little about what the bible says. It takes more than just believing in God. John 3:3 says, we must be Born Again to get to heaven before our time is up.. Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard, and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. We need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ. Bible also says, its not by works should any one boast. So being a good person does not get you to heaven either. The only way to heaven is by repenting of your sins, which means a change of mind, and putting your faith and trust in Jesus. Romans 10:13 says, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So you see, there is a need for salvation to get to heaven. That is why Jesus died on the cross. He took all of our sins upon him, so that if you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you can have eternal life in paradise. You do not get there being a good person, or doing good deeds. Many people believe that is all it takes. Jesus also says, that I am the way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes unto the father, except through me. So please make that decision, so that you can have peace and comfort before your time is up. Its the most important decision of your life. You can then have that peace and assurance of salvation in your heart. All you have to do is humble your heart and pray with faith,... "I repent of my sins, and I turn to You. You said in Your word that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. I ask You Jesus to forgive me of all my sins, come into my heart, and take control of my life. From this day forward I want to live for you. ..... It's not about the words, it's about your heart. The Lord will then send His Holy Spirit to live on the inside of you. The Holy Spirit is Gods seal of salvation, and your evidence you have been Born Again. He will transform your heart and mind. He will bring you into a personal relationship with Jesus. You will become a new person inside. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”. Its truly amazing! You will be filled with peace, love, and joy from the Lord inside you. All the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He will comfort you in your time of need, and give you the strength to endure. No matter what you are going through, Jesus wants to help you through it. You can lean on Him. Its the most important decision of anyone's life. God's Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace Alone. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Please believe me, its all in the bible. Its the Word of God. I am not judging or condemning anyone, just letting you know there is much more if you put your trust in Him. Jesus cares for you, and wants a personal relationship with you. Please don't wait. Today is the day of salvation. Come to Him now, and give yourself freely to Him. He loves you and will save you! I'm praying for you. Please ask Jesus to come into your life today, my friend, You are special to Jesus. Romans 10:9-10. Turned 60 last year, updated my will for probably 5th time, got EPOA and EPOG in place, and have an appointment to ensure I can reserve a burial spot next to my stillborn son and Dad. Have my funeral planned and songs chosen. Told my kids all that is left for them to do is miss me just a little when my time comes. I have absolutely no health issues, but I am very aware we never know when our time may come. PS I am a control freak and like to be organised.

    • @bobsebring2819

Being a control freak in this case is showing your family how much you love them. Actually it's not about being a control freak, but showing responsibility and accountability for what's to happen. In addition, you're showing empathy for your children's feelings too. It's hard enough to grieve over a dear loved one, especially a parent, which can scramble one's thoughts alone, but it's even worse when there's all these financial responsibilities that must be considered too. It's hard to make the right decisions when considering your head is not here but in the clouds. My parents planned for their deaths too by buying their plots and having their life insurance paid up. My mom had always told me where all the paper work was when it was time to get them.

@bobsebring2819 Yes to birthdate. I did the planning for my Dad when he went in to care. Thankfully the Manager bought up the topic of what my Dad wanted at end of life in a meeting, so I followed up conversation with my Dad, we preplanned his funeral, he chose his favourite song. Once he passed there was still much to do, and I did not really grieve or cry till a year after when the care home had a memorial ceremony for those that passed in the previous year, the floodgates opened.

HI Julie! I want to die at home but my wife said she would not be able to come back in the house if this happens. My wife is the one that takes care of me because I will refuse a hospital or hospice as long as I can. I am 73, in a wheelchair with GBS & can't walk without holding onto something. Fighting the pain is a never ending battle, but thank goodness I was prescribed medicine to keep the pain low most of the day. I keep a positive outlook to enjoy each day because it sure beats feeling sorry for myself. I also see how others are so much worse off than me to help with my perspective. Thanks Julie

Agree with Julie on "Peaceful" dying. One point Julie mention is "unresolved" issues in the person's mind. If you die knowing "I wish I've done it", how can that be peaceful death? The other option (for some) is to simply let go of things.
One point I like to mention (Julie did too) is ... not to die with "anger". The last mind that you have just before death is "critically" important for transition. So make sure to plan what that last thought will be in advance, something along the line of good deeds you did in your life time, parents, donations, empathy, etc.

That’s for sure! After agreeing to be someone in my family’s caregiver, I have now decided that when it’s my turn I will go into a facility. It is not an easy job taking care of someone dying. I’d much rather them be in a facility and me be able to visit them instead of taking care of them. People will say how selfish that is, but taking care of someone dying is way too much for me.

It’s natural to feel apprehensive about the unknown, but I hope I can offer you some comfort and reassurance about the concept of salvation and what lies beyond. In many faith traditions, including Christianity, salvation is seen as a profound gift, one that offers not just eternal life but also peace and hope in the here and now. The idea is that through faith and a relationship with God, we can find a sense of security and calm about our ultimate destiny. If you believe in the teachings of Christianity, you might find comfort in the words of Jesus Christ, who spoke of eternal life as a promise to those who trust in Him. In John 3:16, it says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This passage assures us that through faith, we are promised a place of peace and joy beyond our earthly existence. Understand that all people are separated from God due to sin. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Acknowledging your own sin and the need for redemption is the first step in the process. Faith in Jesus is central to salvation. Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for your sins, and rose from the dead. John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Repentance involves a sincere turning away from sin and seeking forgiveness. This means feeling genuine remorse for your sins and making a commitment to change your behavior. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out." Publicly confessing your faith in Jesus is an important step. Romans 10:9 says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This confession is a declaration of your faith and commitment. Invite Jesus into your life and accept Him as both your Savior and Lord. This is a personal decision to trust in Jesus for your salvation and to commit to following Him. Ephesians 2:8-9 highlights that salvation is a gift of grace through faith: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. If you are seeking to accept Jesus Christ into your life, all you need to do is humble your heart, and pray with faith, “Lord Jesus, I come to You acknowledging that I am a sinner and in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that You rose again. I ask You to come into my life, be my Savior, and guide me as I follow You. Thank You for Your grace and love. Amen.”....... Its not about the words, its about your heart. You can now have that assurance of where you will spend eternity. Jesus cares for you. Be blessed

I would like to die at home with hospice but I don't want my family to have to change my diapers. So I've already have the care center where I will do hospice. And I'm going to be cremated, but I'm thinking of being buried on my farm so we won't need all that expensive stuff. I have my will written out but have yet to get it notarized. "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Will keep you in my prayers. God will take away your fears and fill you with peace, in Jesus name. Will keep you in my prayers. God bless you🙏

Where you live it might be a big support system like nurse Julie says but in my experience where I live, no. My friends husband was dying in the hospital under hospice. The day that he died, the hospice volunteers never came in until about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, and he died about 4 o’clock. They never gave his wife the book “out of my sight “until after he died. She was not even told that he qualified for hospice weeks before he died. they had him on palliative care, which clearly wasn’t working. I was the one who was encouraging them to get involved with Hospice and yet Hospice was in the not much help. I was there and I had been through the death of several of my friends plus my late husband, so I knew what to expect, and I coached my friend through her husband’s passing.

I am a retired RN, and have also been through loosing my sister and her husband. Hospice was an occasional, incidental “help”. I was so very disappointed in the little they provided. Basically, a bed bath once every three days. They were very paranoid about about the pain medications.

One suggestion I would make is to make this part of your end of life documents, i.e. will, power of attorney, health care proxy, etc. When my parents prepared their end of life documents, it included funeral directives which included what they wanted when they died and named the person who was in charge of carrying out those wishes. Also, make sure the people named in those documents know where those documents are! The documents are no good if they 1.) are out of date, and 2.) can't be located.
In my case, these documents were extremely useful. I knew what they wanted and was able to carry out those wishes. They wanted to die at home if it all possible, because they had lived int he same home for nearly 60 years and it was where they were most comfortable. That was spelled out in the documents, so if there was ever any question, I could pull those out and show it to whoever was questioning it.
After their death, I brought the document to the funeral home so the funeral director knew that I was carrying out their wishes.
It can be a tough conversation to have, how you want to die. But, for those who are going to be caring for you it makes the job much easier, especially if it's done before you get sick. The earlier it is done, the more time your caregiver(s) have to prepare for it.

There needs to be death with dignity in each state. Its not fair that terminal people have to suffer knowing they are dying and its going to stretch out for a long time. Not being able to have a peaceful death with family and friends with you is not right. Them watching you suffer is not right. If I get the news I've got cancer or any debilitating disease and I'm going to suffer and my loved ones will have to watch that and suffer along with me, I'm going to take myself out of the picture and that's terrible.

After my mom’s vitals stopped, her jaw was left open. The hospital nurses cleaned her up and put her in a bag. I asked if I could see her one more time. When they unzipped the bag, she was smiling. Is that biologically possible? I was happy to see it but almost couldn’t believe my eyes. The nurse who was with me saw that too and said something so I know I wasn’t just seeing things.

I have to tell you the best death besides dying in your sleep. My MIL was 83. She was told she might have 3 months. Heart issues and she had fibrosis of her lungs. Never smoked.
She was on hospice ab 2.5 weeks in. She didn’t get out of bed but was fully alert, ate small amounts of food, had tons of visitors, engaged and happy the entire time.
A couple days prior to her death, I went over to visit. She was in the chair. And I thought drs got this wrong. She’s going to be here longer than they say. I loved her sooooooo much!!!! Late morning, 2 days later, she woke up with a lot of anxiety. Hospice nurses came gave her some morphine. She was still anxious. Her friends were over. She asked they go verify with the funeral home down the road that everything was in place. They did. She asked her daughter who lived with her and didn’t leave her side from the time hospice started to put a movie in. She passed when her daughter turned her back to put the movie in.
It’s sooooo beautiful!!!!! Maybe I’ll get that lucky. ❤️❤️❤️

I waa told my Dad had a couple of hours to live. I rushed to his care home. When I walked in he looked at me and told me he liked my jacket 😁. He did not look like he was dying. He refused morphine, telling nurses he had no pain, and also refused anti anxiety medication saying "I am not anxious". He was fully awake and alert for the six hours before he passed, we talked and listened to music, and he sang to me, told me he was glad I was his daughter and I tolld him if I could go back in time I would still want him as my Dad. Noone had been answering my calls as it was night, but then a brother in NZ (I am in Australia) called around 3.30am and I put the phone to my Dad, my brother said "goodnight Dad, I love you", my Dad turned to me and just stopped like a light switch being flicked off. Just one big breath and gone. I thought is that it? It waa so peaceful and beautiful. My Dad taught me how to die.

My husband was away in our other home in another state. Now, concerning expressing my concerns on my death( funeral plans) those have been taken care of. I spoke to their chaplain, didnt help my spiritual needs. Myself, dying is scary and nothing anyone can say will help. I fear death so, even in pain I want to live.

Hi Julie! Could you do a video going into the difference(s) between dying of "natural causes" (and maybe elaborate on what that means) as opposed to things like a heart attack, stroke, etc.? I'm interested in how the end of life phases vary as a result since you mention in videos about the "actively dying phase" but I'd imagine that's only applicable when it's of whatever "natural causes" refers to, and not something more sudden that triggers the death. Thanks!

Nor can I manage all duties besides routine household activities, especially when I am a diabetic, hearing impaired, and other o.d age problems. The idea of seeking nursing home or hospice is impossible, when no other helping hand to care for us. The only way out is that both of us cease to be alive awaiting some miracle to happen.Still, living beyond this age at such conditions meaningless. Is there any other option other than to cease our existence. I know everyone will give advice to pull on but for what good use?

I want to share something deeply personal and transformative that has given me peace, hope, and assurance: the incredible love of Jesus Christ. Jesus loves you more than you could ever imagine. His love is unconditional and unwavering. He sees every part of your life-the joys, the sorrows, the questions, and the pain-and He loves you just as you are. The Bible tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This means that God’s love for you is so great that He sent Jesus to take on all our burdens, sins, and struggles so that we could have eternal life with Him. You might wonder, “What does this mean for me?” The amazing truth is that Jesus’ love offers us forgiveness, peace, and a personal relationship with God. We don’t have to earn it or try to be “good enough.” Instead, it’s a free gift we accept by faith. The Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Salvation is not about religion or rituals; it’s about trusting in Jesus, who gave His life so you could have eternal life. It’s about acknowledging your need for Him and inviting Him into your heart. If this is something you feel ready to do, you can simply pray to Him, in your own words or something like this: Lord Jesus, I know I need You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. Please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart. I trust You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for loving me. Amen. Jesus promises that He will never leave or forsake those who come to Him (Hebrews 13:5). No matter what you are facing, you can lean on Him. He understands your pain, and He walks with you through every moment. You can talk to Him in prayer about anything on your heart, and He will give you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). You are deeply loved-by me, by others, and most importantly, by Jesus. Even in the hardest moments, He is your strength, your comfort, and your hope. With all my love and prayers, God bless you

Hey Julie I saw a UA-cam channel called “God’s manifestation” using one of your stories and pictures of you. Seemed like an AI generated video. I kind of feel like it was used without your permission. Maybe you did give them permission. But just seemed off

I have tried to talk to my parents about these things, but I have been disowned because I "want them dead so I can have their money", or so I have been told by my father. OK Dad!

Every adult past 25 is dying
    Cellular wisr
    Fact of life
How you die is your own choice baring an accident or trauma.
Personally I think on your own terms is my preference
But others who for religious or generally being scared of death (I have worked 25 years in the the military and health industry the most religious people are the most scared of death)
You choose your own passing and what suits you . Not your family
As my cousin a consultant oncologist
Says life goes on the sun will still rise wether we. Are here or not .
Lots of forgotten headstones in the graveyard
    Do what suits you.
    Take care

Death is unnatural. The Lord did not create this world with death in it. We made it that way. Death is the terrible and unnatural ripping of the soul out of the body. Death is the divine punishment for man's disobedience.

While I understand that these are your religious beliefs, I would have to say I disagree strongly. Personally, I don't believe there is a God, but if there was one, and if they were a loving God, why wouldn't they step in to prevent that pain?
Personally, I believe that we are all made up of the Earth just as any other living creature, and we will return to it. The current formation of our atoms and molecules that allows us this sense of individualized consciousness is so precious. But, as with all things, living or not, it comes to an end. The finite nature of consciousness is part of what makes life so incredibly precious. Not God, not someone being "Good" or "bad", just being alive, every moment, is worth celebrating. And when someone dies, that is the time for the people who knew them to reflect on them, and celebrate the life they led.

No death or separation of spirit and soul is part of God’s plan. There will be a resurrection and our body and spirit will be joined in perfect form. God was a plan. Make sure you put His commandments and gift of repentance into your daily life.

Sorry that you live with so much fear. Death of all things is a natural process. That's why we have seasons.
It's merely a death of the material and physical. Those who believe in God or a soul/spirit/ energy know that physical beings go through this cycle while the soul and energy carries on for eternity.
