I really like how Kuai Liang has been shown to be the more moral, upstanding kombatant combared to Bi-Han. Further shows how different they are and why hes badass

I love how in every mirror match with MK characters at least one defaults to “blame Shang Tsung”.
Mirror Matches were his creation in Mortal Kombat.
Shang tsung is the reason why he would doubt someone who looks similar to him.
It's a pretty safe bet.
Its also tradition that every sun zero mirror match references bi-han.

Gotta say, Sub Zero’s portrayal in this game is fucking awesome. You really get the feeling that he’s truly a reformed warrior who’s kept the power he’s collected in his darker days and wishes to use it to prepare potential heroes. Also, it’s cool to analyze how he speaks to the villain characters; almost like he knows them on sight since he used to be one himself. Nice work from the studio and Steve Blum on this.
Reminds me of how, in MKX, he puts an end to the bad blood between the Kuai Liang and Shirai Ryu by just talking to Scorpion and admitting his clan's faults.

Even Darkseid referred to Kuai Liang as “Grandmaster.” It should speak volumes of his (Sub-Zero) character.
He also said they had met before aka mkvdc and while I don’t think mkvdc is canon to the second mk timeline it is a nice reference to there only being one darkseid (not like everyone else who has a different version in every universe)

They aren't katanas though? Katanas are curved, Sub-Zero uses longswords.
Aleksandar Vil dude those aren't even close to katanas. Blade shape is way different (straight and with 2 edges) blade isn't the right size, the guard is nowhere near a katanas shape.
Plus the Lin Kuei are a Chinese clan, most likely some Chinese sword weapon

This is the one thing I love about voice acting, writing, and the model work. Yeah, they recycle lines for different characters, yeah, they're LITERALLY doing the same animations in the intros. But the way they're written, spoken, and animated still do a damn good job.
