I've realized this in sports as well. Players who aren't just athletic but have the insane sport IQ are often deadly in an annoying way. Their mind just outdoes what can be physically done. Messi watching the entire game at walking pace is a good example. His sport IQ is insane and when he adds his athleticism to it, it's magic.

Too bad. Arsene couldn't compete with the oligarchs money, but was so stubborn he wouldn't change his game plan. Got rid of guys like Toure & Gilberto who he absolutely needed to keep up with superior talents at Chelsea, Man City, etc
And because they were relatively cheap and could be easily swayed to move. I mean, you're not going to convince players from United or Chelsea to join City in 2011 are you? Both teams had just recently won the league. But Arsenal was different.

Nasri was great but for me he held onto the ball too long. David Silva was the best in the pockets because he would just drop the ball off, play 1-2s and he'd be impossible to pick up and deadly as f at the same time

I was thinking just yesterday how if Nasri was at his top, my pick would be Nasri and Silva over De Bruyne although I love kdb. He was just something else. A clever midfielder who could do it all.
A lot of the best players in any sport has usually been the smartest players. Hockey has Wayne gretzky, football has Leo messi, and American football has Tom brady. They aren't exactly the most astounding physically gifted players, but became the best in their sport with high iq. They always beat the more athletic players with smarts than athleticism.
This 87 french generation was crazily gifted, funny that the only one who had the right attitude, while being the least naturally gifted, made it because of his work (Benzema). All the others are now forgotten due to their lack of work (Menez, Nasri, Ben Arfa)

Samri Nasri wasn't the fastest, or strongest but he was just very very clever. A sneaky player who in his prime was very fun to watch.
