A Journey in The Mandelbrot set [1280x720]

- The mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot was the first person to use a computer to visualize the behaviour of a dynamic system. In 1975 he introduced the word fractal (from the Latin fractus, broken) to denote objects with fractional dimension. His scientific research built the foundation of fractal geometry the link between classical mathematics and the chaos of atmospheric turbulence, biological populations and the stock market. Decades before fractals were named several mathematicians had studied them Weierstrass, Koch, Lévy, Cantor, Poincaré and Julia.
This film is based on the exhibition "Seduction" ( mandelbrot-set.... ) and it blends computer generated images from the Mandelbrot set with digital photographs from the real life. The song used in the film is "Vitae Amandae" by Cathleen Trezza from Firewisp Music ( www.firewispmus... ). The digital photographs are contributed by Annette Olson, Daisuke Tomiyasu,Elfi Berndl,Jon Sullivan, John French, Nicholas Gere, and Simon Tong. Credits editing is done by Louise Blyton.
The flight over the fractal and the dive down in its abysm is generated by several specially designed programs that model NURBS-based trajectories. The programs are written in Logo ( elica.net/ and lhogho.sourcefo... ) and Pascal. The original movie is HD720p, 1.5GB. The raw data for all 7500 frames is about 20GB. Production took about 2 months, while the pure rendering time for the hardest frame was 10 hours.
No software, hardware or mathematical formulae were harmed during the production of this film.
Depicted fractal locations are virtual but not fictitious. Any resemblance to other areas of the Mandelbrot set fractal is completely and mathematically justifiable.
Работа настоящего художника! Не первый год пересматриваю, это потрясающе!
Спасибо!
A mathematical equation to represent the whole universe. Infinite variation, and at the same time it's all self-similar.... Beautiful!
In what way does it represent the whole universe, exactly?
@@Nathouuuutheone You can see a lot of fundaments of reality impressed in the mandelbrot
@@Profetadmt bold claim, and correlation between observations unclear. Care to elaborate?
@@Nathouuuutheone I dont think that mandelbrot represents the whole universe, unless we talk about metaforical questions, also about a lot of mathematic aspects but ill explain myself. Mandelbrot contains fibonacci sequense expressed in a lot of different ways, contains π numer, contains e number, and contains the difurcation diagram, all that drawed with only one line, showing us that all the intricate complexity is part of one indivisible thing. Philosophicaly speaking, we can se how the part that belongs to the mandelbrot is black and the part that doesn't is white (you can colour it with iterations creating a gradient) representing the duality that is within everything, the only thing that exists for always and for averywhere, in all the possible scales and deeps of its own existence. Inside every julia set, in the center, you can find another minibrot, showing how everything repeats on itself, before the space in between the limits of the function you can see hoy it branches till infinity to colapse in that mandelbrot; I think it can be interpreted in a lot of different situations of life, looking that sacred geometry that belongs within the fabric of existence and giving it the interpretation you need.
sorry for my english im not native speaker
"No software, hardware or mathematical formulae were harmed during the production of this film". Very cool! Nice video.
IS 999 LOVE
I REALLY LOVE how you put up the cast in the end credits. It really emphasizes the being of every member of it, and gives feeling of the unity and permeating of various forms of existence. Utterly beautiful.
I love the Journey to Rainbow Universe 1:40
Amazing Work!
Amazing rotation
This is really good
Very nicely rendered and artistic view of such a famous and infamous set.
@mandelsugee Interestingly, you can find many things that resemble real life shapes and patterns such as trees and spiraling hurricanes in the Mandelbrot Series; however, I believe these fractals patterns that we see has a much more fundamental meaning than what meets the eye.
For example: A Romaneso Brocoli
Define "fundamental meaning"
All sorts of simple things have incredible emergent complexity, it doesn't make them "meaningful".
You can find a shape that looks like a tree 🌳
i love the fact this was made in 2010
After about a decade, it's still 👍
I like the song
ICED OUT!! AMAZING GOD'S WORK!! GOOD VIDEO! :)
I don’t know how it’s done… All I know is, it is beautiful. 🌎🌏🌍
lsnsbsjsnsbssjsbaksb😂😅😮❤
THANKYOU FOR THIS VIDEO!
nice rotating, might want to up the iteration count, but very nice
Exactly
Yeah i still have ptsd from all those smooth minibrots 😰
Yeah. At that time (12 years ago) it took quite a long time to render the movie. Nowadays it would be much faster to generate better quality.
I’m dreaming about being a Blunt. I’m sprinting around and I just can’t wake up.
I’m a blunt getting smoked and I can’t wake up.
Erm what the sigmund
There is a lot of minibrots
Esta música me faz eu chorar😂
I like this music is great!😃
The mandelbrot set gets fucking crazier and crazier the more I think about it. There's so much going on.
Ideal for an art lesson.
After this vidio, paint your own simile photo from the mandlebrot set.v
i like it as much as wet shoes
in winter
Dude! The one part! With the one thing! Fuckin Badass!!
Wow
Pictures that look like a fractal
oh. wow. oh wow oh wow oh wow.
Is a world of mandelbrots?
Yes it sounds not true but mandelbrot is infinity
2:22 IT MATCHES
Objects in the fractal: 1. Zipper 2. Spiderweb 3. Geode 4. Solar Wind 5. Eye 6.Tree
The others: Can't remember
Fireworks and then the mandelbrot puzzle
i am so high right now jajajajaja genial!!!!

More like a journey into photoshopping random stuff onto the Mandlebrot set 🙄
mandelbrot . is nice?
