It's pedantic as hell but I also agree, statements like this really show just how much of a monopoly LEGO has on building brick toys when any toy similar or inspired by it is referred to as a clone or a fake
They started adding $3 and $5 sets...and they're HUGE for the price. I like how they had the "tourist" series like Berlin, Venice, Tokyo, and San Francisco for $3. The giant cars are $5 and they look pretty good too.
3:17 It might be a coincidence but that set is EXTREMELY similar to set 79118 Karai Bike Escape from the TMNT lego line. Maybe that’s what inspired it?

I've been pretty happy with dollar tree legos. They work well enough with the name brand stuff, though some of the sets I've gotten fit very tightly and can be difficult to remove. They also feel cheaper than the name brand. Seriously though...for $1 I'm happy.
These seems really cheap close to other brands that make sets of supposedly licenced stuff like movies and cartoons. From these, I's say the bench is fine, I got some knock off lego "for girls" and, one of them is similar, the difference is that the mailbox is another set.
Some places are replacing green lights with blue to accommodate R/G color blindness. Not sure if they were goin for that but if so, very forward thinking!
These are little booster sets to help fill out a city on the cheap. As long as they are compatible and you try to not mix pieces, I see no issue. If I was a parent and my kid was into lego, I'd keep my eye out for these to use as a physical reward for good grades or whatever. For how cheap they are, they bring a lot of potential to the table
As a LEGO purist I was searching non LEGO military equipment and I’m considering buying some Not to forget the number of incredible looking set like battleships
Hi there, you forgot to mention something.... The baseplates are slightly larger then LEGO baseplates, so if you want to line them up you'll have to shave a little off, otherwise they buckle.
They're actually $1.25 for the last couple years and everything is probably going up to $1.50 @ the first of the year of the way corporate said. And dollar tree already has $20 items. I work @ a dollar tree
Those Lego sets help me out so much because I need the baseplates and sets because it gives me extra parts for cheap because the baseplates at Walmart are 7 bucks and the base plates are 5 or 1 dollars
You look very comfortable. Also, I really enjoyed your old video guide to shopping in New York - it would be great if you continued the series elsewhere. For example, I'm in a suburb of London but I'm new to*aceluxs*shopping so I don't know where I'm going or what to buy in my city.
I've got some, the pieces on some of them broke, that was the skeleton set, was mad because using it for something at the time. Overall, they are not good.
The one that I got it was like a truck or like construction site and I had like a rock a traffic cone a shovel and yeah it I had play features two lift up the rock too
Crazy story but my friend just came to school if you want one fake Lego set and I said yeah he 4:57 and he gave me one for free I actually pretty like it I’ve seen worse fake lego😂
I actually use some of the $1 base plates for displays. No figures or parts have cracked so I’ve been comfortable using them in Mocs.
Awesome, I am excited to buy more. I will finally have enough baseplates!
The measurements might be slightly off and cause cracking on the minifigures over time.
@@UndeadAhead I check on figures on the plates over and over again and still nothing! The only cracks come from legitimate lego plates. 😂
The plates got shrinkflation recently, shrunk in size to about a 16x16 now, the baseplates are pretty good deals if you can find the big sized ones
@TerrorSyxke the dollar tree by me always has both. Apparently they used to make road plates too.
This goes to show how Lego is more expensive than it should be
I mean Lego does have better quality control and they do have to pay licensing fees, but I would agree they should be able to make them cheaper.
Fr if Lego made the bench set it would probably be 5-10 dollars
4:58 Just because it was 1 dollar, doesn't mean it is rubbish. Some people bought it for birthday present, because that is affordable price.
For real. It's a small amount of bricks, but it's also a friendly price.
Me too
For real not everyone can afford lego
Technically, they aren't fake lego...they aren't claiming to be lego any more than megablox is
Well yes, but it is very clear what brand they take influence from. Especially with the whole “compatible with other leading brands” slogan. 😂

I should try and find those. They sound cool!
i can imagine kid's embarrassment after seeing the _"Lego"_ present
I remember the time my grandma bought me fake Lego, I had to pretend to be really excited. The pieces didn’t even always click together 😂
At 3:49 blue lights are in Japan so maybe it was manufactured there
Your right👍. Sorry I didn’t catch that.
honestly id rather take a 1 dollar lego set with a sticker than a 150 dollar real lego set with 20 stickers
It is kind of crazy how these sets even have some printing too. Granted it is not good, but that is better than Lego at some times.
The construction guy looks like he wants someone to end his suffering 😅
lol! 😂
Ngl 1 dollar is a steal for those
The baseplate for sure!
@@SparePartsBricksi use the baseplate for all my stop motions. Surprisingly good
I actually get fake Lego from Menards it’s Called brick blocks most are 1.49 and they are good quality

aside from the characters, I tries these sets and in my opinion they are actually fire

Yea
These were my childhood! Also, the blue is a green light for other countries.

@ no way, actually..?
@ yeah
Most fake legos without mini figs are actually pretty good

Do offical lego work with the base plate? Any issues with looseness?
Yep, they fit like a normal baseplate and there are no molding errors that I can see.
@@SparePartsBricks oh sweet. I should keep an eye out for them

Yeah, another person told me that the stoplight set was completely ripped from a Lego ninja turtles set and it is actually very similar.
They have a nice small storage box with a base plate cover.
Yeah, I also saw that there.
They do work and they are so fun I got it for my birthday day for every one when was 7
The baseplates especially. Just bought 7 more! 😂
Some places are replacing green lights with blue to accommodate R/G color blindness. Not sure if they were goin for that but if so, very forward thinking!
I didn’t know that! That is actually really smart. Maybe Make-it blocks are just really invested in helping people with color blindness. 😂

I didn’t notice that. I will have to test that when I get home from school.
The light thingy at 3:54 is normal to be blue cause when i see one of those they look a bit blueish
I heard that some places are also replacing green lights with blue lights so that could also be the reason.
The baseplates and loose bricks are actually useful for building mocs on a budget
Yeah, definitely will be getting more baseplates!
Each day I can wake up and say I went to the same dollar store as spare parts 💪
lol!
Saw them at the dollar store the other day!
And the base plates I cut them and use them for custom chassis
Do Lego pieces fit on that fake base plate?

I got that bench set.The bench is okay the rest sucks
The bench one is okay. Maybe that’s because it does not come with one of the creepy minifigs! 😂
I buy a bunch of these fake Lego bricks just so I can cut and grind down and make custom parts and pieces for moc and cars builds
That is actually a good use for them!
I think Greenbrier International, INC. might be the company that makes Make-It Blocks.
Yeah, I think it is the parent company behind the whole dollar tree brand.
There is some that have a wrench and the screwdriver there is a metal plane and race car crane helicopter. there’s one of make it blocks it a tank

I actually got the whole set for my little cousin for his 7th birthday bc i didnt have alot of money for real legos
