First of all you wear a full face shield. Secondly that truck is pulled into a building and that is illegal.

I'm not sure, was I watching a propane tank refilling video or a propane tank lifting video.

is this the proper way to exit the forklift? other thing is you should not turn off the engine first but rather turn off the service valve to burn all the propane on the engine.

It is not the proper way. Use the 3 points of contact and exit the forklift the same way you got in. With your back facing out.
