Nice edit. Because it's fascinating every single time how they see through each other's BS (though Derek often enough finds a way to confuse her if she actually did). And this collage of the moments really hammers that fact home.
Exactly. It's like they're transparent to each other. She sees behind his bad boy facade and he sees through her good girl act. They both really get each other on a level no one else really does.
@@EditsByLyra Personally I put down their facades to their parents divorces. Casey - seeing her parents fighting - tries to do everything perfectly so she doesn't add reasons for them to fight. And she becomes a tyrant about it. Derek on the other hand is forced to step in when George completely fails at keeping the house together - and the only way he can get out of carrying ALL the responsibilities is by pretending to be an uncaring jerk. It's just that they seem to have an instinct for when the other is "slipping into a role" and it gets honed the longer they live together. Having somebody who can just sidestep your armor and walls is scary, but also incredibly intimate, as you are completely at their emotional mercy. And seeing the other not abusing that power (with occasional close calls by Derek desperately trying to undo the intimacy) leads to a lot of trust. And complete trust together with physical attraction is a hard combo to resist.

Oh yes, the actors absolutely loved the ship! They often talked about it, even filmed themselves acting out fanfic. Super nice people. (But the creator of the show wasn't too big on the idea of it, understandably).
