Looks like a lot of delicious food. Love the old school places. Too bad most are closed down now. Love your videos.

We have a lot of these dongzi in nyc Chinatown too. Is a good idea to add some dried scallops and dried shrimps too.

Dried scallops and dried shrimp are good ingredients. Really adds a lot of nice salty flavor. Thanks for viewing my video.

We just came back from Vancouver several weeks ago. We saw shops after shops for blocks in this Chinatown area. We didn't eat real meals for a whole week ... just subsisting on never-ending samplings of dumpling goodies.

Did you go to Richmond, which is near the Airport? Anyway, that sounds like a great trip. That's what I enjoy doing when I travel. Thanks for checking out my video.

We actually started our vacation near North Vancouver area (near Capilano University). We swing by Richmond/Chinatown along our route. We really had a great time. We will definitely be back.

@@satangotv That's great. You went up to North Vancouver which is a nice area to visit too. Now I can see why you had a great trip.

The one on Victoria & 43rd used to be really good! Things went downhill since COVID. The service is surly, the rice noodles (Cheung fun) is scraped & slapped together - all dough and only a little bit of filling, & the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf is SO skimpy with the fillings that it's sad😊! The rice vermicelli and the frozen dim sum are good. Overall, still not bad for the prices, but used to be way better!

I thought someone said there is another one of these bakeries but I can't remember where. Thanks for the tip about the frozen dim sum. I haven't tried them yet. Thanks for checking out my video.

@@DanSetoChineseCanadianRootsTV I was there at 11:30 yesterday... Used to be "prime time" for people picking up lunch! The place was empty! Yes, frozen dim sum are good, that big cauldron of rice vermicelli is good, but forget the Rice rolls (Cheung fun) in the morning. They just scrape & spackle together the rice-starch sheets with very little meat fillings!

They have one in Richmond, in the Lido Mall, but the Clerk in Richmond was a huge b,tch during COVID. This fella , however, was very friendly or courteous, maybe because he was on camera.
Dan, you need to improve your Canto.

Thanks for telling me about the shop in the Lido Mall. He was a pretty nice guy but was reluctant to go on camera but his little daughter is a big fan of UA-cam.
As for improving my Canto, most likely not. I speak the sub- Cantonese dialect known as "Sai Yip. The way I speak it is like the way my grandfather spoke it when he came to Canada in 1916. Thanks for checking out my video.

      you mean Seiyap dialect
四邑方言? Cool! OG Chinese Canadian Canto👍.
The other common dialect here was Toisan. Now everyone here all speak Mando.
