One of my favourite bands of all time, love and respect them to the fullest and so thankful for their music. I'm just so surprised how different they sound live. The audio work especially the technical depth isn't great at all. I'm not hating or bashing in anyway- would love to see one of there shows but if I were to play them to a friend before the show I'd feel like they'd enjoy the experience due to the connection rather then just the music itself. Am I completely alone on this? Regardless can't wait for Sea Of Worry
i completely agree with the sentiment here but will also say- i can’t help but think the video audio is off or was pitched weirdly to make the vocals more or too discernible? or also i know dan was sick for part of this tour including the full dc set at roadburn. either way when i saw them in NY two years ago it didn’t sound like this, there was a subtle effect of ‘oh it’s weird hearing these vocals this loud’ but not to such a stark degree as this, the music also sounded more natural and less like watching a ‘rock band’ play, not quite the same vibe as playing the record but much closer
@@autumnadams6309 Yeah- the technical work is quite off, but also it's being recorded in a low quality venue. Really want to see them live, I'm sure if they had a bigger budget and more time spent practising it could sound much better, due to how much of there songs are heavily layered, it would be hard to recreate live. Some artists can do it very well, Thom Yorke's live stuff is a prime example, using lots of loop and glitch to make the experience similar and even better then that of his solo albums.
@@autumnadams6309 Yes that show 2 years ago in NYC might be their greatest performance. But part of HANL's magic is they are all average 9-5 guys who made some unbelievable tunes in their off time. Like they fell into doing this stuff rather than actively pursuing it to the fullest. Dan and Tim are really your quiet coworkers who hadppened a masterpiece stuck in their heads that they would occasionally perform at open mics.
I mean, Dan is clearly sick her; and it isn't a professional recording of the live show, so there is also that. When I play with my band people always say they can't hear the vocas because everything (specially the guitars) are really loud, but when I see the videos the vocals are always the loudest thing. I think it has mostly to do with the recording here and the fact that the albums have a shitton of reverb that is hard to recreate live
pues depende a que parte de mexico, hay bandas que andan de tour en US y se animan a cruzarse a dar shows en ciudades fronterizas, pero fuera de eso yo creo que solo vendrian a un festival como nrmal

Poleit You are a good man, Poleit.
imagine a bald guy walks into your studio, starts mashing the effects pedal and screams arrowheads 500 times and its a banger
Not even a studio. They recorded most of the album on Barrett's laptop with Logic. They spent only about a grand.
i like how hes so terrible at singing
So sad that they didn’t play “Holy fucking shit: 40000” I really want to see it live
Fucking same man
I agree. It’s my 3rd favorite song ever
I was hoping I don’t love would be in the set list :(
Cropsey hasn’t been on the sets for a few years either :(
Jesse we need to cook
I love how there's a Dan Barrett 2 playing guitar.
He kinda looks like Anthony Fantano
Have a nice life is so good i just wish bald beople were real
Braved a sprained ankle and standing on crutches to be right in front for this historic moment. Heck of a night!
I would kill for a UK show, I treasure each and every live recording
theyd never, they hate the uk especially dan lololol.

It sounded a lot better in person. There was a lot more energy and the audio was better mixed.
I wish he didn't cup the mic, vocal would sound better
the pit for earthmover was unreal i miss it
Arrow heads, yellow leds, narrow reds, fellow mads.

I can't believe this was published today ! Thanks a bunch. I bet it will be difficult for them to come to Mexico
Well, it is probably easier than they coming to Brazil :(
Yo esperaba que los trajeran para el NRMAL pero se pandean
Imagina lo difícil que es traerlos a Perú

Whyyyyyy are there ads on this video
Come to France!!
I have just listened to the beginning of The Big Gloom, and they sound like a cover band. Hope the rest of the show grows from there.
They sound awful haha
They do sound awful live but I think to judge their live performance by sound alone is sort of missing the point.
This guy can’t sing
100% and it's wonderful. They convey emotion wonderfully
I mean they are just two guys and have to rely on local randos when they play live
