I especially appreciated the last tip about Doing. I am a perennial start-but-not-finish person, who is sick of being thus. I want to actually put into practice all the advice I consume.
It is a difficult balance to strike, isn‘t it? I would love to hear how it goes, if you decide to also take one of these books or a different one you already own and try to apply it for a month. Of course real results would take much longer and more consistency, but if you like me sometimes do not apply the learned information enough, a month would be a great start :). Leave me another comment later if you do take this route! Also, thanks for watching and commenting, that means a lot!
@@HarmonyHardin As much as I would love to get a hold of a couple of your recommendations sooner rather than later, I do intend to start something with a book I already have. And I am going to start today and will keep you posted.😊 So, to keep myself accountable, I am going to aim for 30 min per day, applying advice from at least one of the two specific art books I already own and want to work through.
@@miqf914 That is a very wise approach! We probably all have such books lying around that we really should start to implement... I look forward to hearing how it goes, best of luck to you. You got this!!
What a friendly welcome back message, Marija! Thanks so much for watching and commenting, makes me very happy to receive such love on my first video after such a long break. I have a few more videos in production now so more to come in the coming weeks :).
I read a book from your last video. It was “Finish”. It really changed how I approach my perfectionist self. My favorite quote is “Perfectionism hates data”!!! I am all focused on stats now and not did I do it perfectly. I now track if I sketch or paint and not if my results are perfect. Thank you for the old list and the new list! My mom is from Berlin and I speak German and I love to hear and see when German pops up in your videos.
Dear Annabelle, you have no idea how happy you just made me with this comment! I sometimes worry that someone will purchase a recommendation and really dislike it, so I am so glad to hear that the „Finish“ book changed your creative practice in a positive way. Yay!! And way to go, it is not easy to change a perfectionist approach! Danke Dir für diese liebe Nachricht!
