Sam and Dan said the band will not be playing Gone With The Wind anymore and it's been the case for the last year. Simply for what it takes and asks, to go each night the time of 1 song, in the trauma of loosing Tom again and again. I believe that's part of what drove the change of sound. The willing to not make the same style forever, especially the one your brother/friend used to compose. You want to depart from that, to reborn. It hasn't been the direction some people wanted, that's totally fair, as long as you're not a asshole sending death threats and shitting on Tom's legacy. I personally loved For Those That Wish To Exist, on the other hand not a fan of Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit which came out last year, who still had one of their best song imo named A New Moral Low Ground.
@@jimpickens8551 I rewatched the Holy Ghost documentary this week and man, as the pictures went, I felt more and more tears in my eyes. I only discovered them in 2019 but it's crazy how straight I felt a connection. Like if I knew this band and if Tom was an inspiration to me for a long time.
Some of these "fans" went as far as sending death threats to Sam and I would be surprised if not to the other band members. There is no justification for any of that shit, it makes me angry and sad.
That's insane, they can just simply stop following their music instead of all that. I didn't like the last 2 albums as a whole, but there were a few decent songs. If Architects release a new song, I'm at least going to check it out once.
Iv honestly never gave this band a chance beyond their first album when they were touring with BMTH way back in like 2009 or something but this song makes me feel bad for architects. Like the fans were so mean they felt the need to make such an amazing banger that I actually like a song of theirs 😮
@@judgepage6605 I’ll give it a shot. It’s been forever since I have heard a song that iv liked by them. Iv heard the singles over the years but never made me wanna deep dive
Oh dear god mate you cannot Cannot CANNOT judge Architects based off their first album. Listen to Lost Forever // Lost Together and All Our Gods Have Abandonned Us. They're literally considered innovators in their genre. If you liked this, you'll also enjoy Holy Hell.
Listen to their first three records: _Nightmares,_ _Ruin,_ and _Hollow Crown_ . Literally nothing after their first three records is worth listening to at all. After _Hollow Crown_ they started going downhill, becoming increasingly less creative, less adventurous, less technical, and less interesting. Now they're just another dime-a-dozen Octane Genericore band. _Nightmares_ is one of the best debuts of all time. In any genre. And to this day it's the most passionate and inspired the band has ever sounded.
@@malcolmk2878 Lol, _Nightmares_ throat-fucks LF//LT and AOGHAU to death. _Nightmares_ is incomparably more creative, more engaging, technical, and just _better_ songwriting and performances in every conceivable way.
"we're a big family, geez thanks for the death threats" like imagine sending death threats to an artist just cause you don't like the direction they're going in lol
The situation is similar to Linkin Park become soft before, Asking Alexandria become rock, and Architects almost goin into the direction (softer too?), but im glad they killed it on this new song, cant wait for their next album.
@@rezaruki3912brooo I remember all the hate linkin park got. that album was stunning too. different, yes. but I think it’s important to look into the deeper meaning and find the beauty in anything. ppl were nasty to them. wish ppl would just chill out and enjoy the ride fr.
@@itsmegz The different is Chester could not do the scream anymore so i dont mind if he did that and changed the band, but i guess the fans did harsh on him, i know how friendly the metal community like but sometimes there's people that ended up being superior and tribalism on metal subgenre.
I love this song so fuckin much. I got into Architects later I guess than most and picked them up with All Our Gods, but I've loved every album they've put out. Generally I listen to heavier bands, but my range is fairly broad within the metal genre. I also really loved the chanting style they used, it gave me Anti-Mother vibes from Norma Jean and its haunting and I love it.
This is a straight f u to anyone who sent death threats or destroying Toms legacy. (Anyone who did that are not fans) They released all that anger, frustration, sadness whatever they have been feeling into this song and it’s a banger. The band deciding to switch it up is not new and I haven’t heard the newest album the last one I remember listening to was Wish to Exist which was a solid album. I don’t understand why fans either can’t enjoy just the old stuff without trashing the new stuff listen to what you like if you don’t like it don’t listen to it this is like Slipknot when they decided to switch it up on All Hope is Gone or Metallica with the black album. When he said "does it make you happy?"i was like It definitely does, even though it was a disstrack towards the haters hence lyrically weak PS: I honestly dont think that they dont never want to do the old style its more like they cant, not with you know how the creator pf that classic octave jumping is now no more with us. And it probably hurts them to trying to recreate that sound without tom, so instead they choose this sound. Its just my opinion
I don't mind the clean vocals and shit from the last album but it just feels like there was something missing with the way a lot of those songs got mixed.
All the albums before "All of Our Gods Have Abandoned Us" are considered their Heavy ones. After the passing of the guitar player due to cancer, they changed but they are still heavy. But if you want the top Architects, check "Hollow Crown" from 2011 and "Lost Forever//Lost Together" from 2014 those are regarded as their TOP albums.
I’d say “lost forever // lost together” is where they found their true sound, “all our gods have abandoned us” is them improving that sound, but angrier, and “holy hell” is where they perfected their sound. Their older albums before these have heavy stuff too, but LF//LT is that album that’s coherent and well produced, and has that original architects feel imo
