She knows that she is able to know that he will be there for her, no matter what happens and vice versa. I was sad about Jack having died. I was really upset Dan Lissing decided to leave the show. But WCTH couldn't help it if Dan wanted to do other acting projects & leave. But I think the WCTH team ended up with a good show bringing two single men to HV. It will never be the same as Elizabeth's relationship with Jack was. She had an youthful optimistic attitude about her relationship with Jack. She thought about the idea of losing him once & that made her worry a little, but that was only theory at the time. So, she had a joy & innocence about her relationship with Jack that she will never have again. That's why Elizabeth being in love with Constable Nathan Grant is more profound. She is going into that relationship knowing full well the possibilities of losing another great love. However, she is in love with Nathan & choosing him despite the risk. I loved Jack & Elizabeth's romance. They had a sweetness & chemistry that I will always love, but it was a beautiful young love. There was an innocence there that Elizabeth will never have again in any relationship after losing Jack to death. Nathan & Elizabeth relationship was much more complicated. It look them the length of Jack & Elizabeth's whole relationship to get together romantically. In S6-S11 it took 5 years. So, Elizabeth & Nathan's relationship is more complex. It was full of challenges. Elizabeth had her history/experience to have to deal with, with regards to Jack's death & reliving it in a way when she realized she was in love with Nathan in S8, but rejected Nathan out of fear & being traumatized all over again with the idea of losing another great love, Nathan. So, for 2 seasons Elizabeth choose a safe relationship, a safe love with Lucas to protect her heart. That didn't work out & she broke up with Lucas in S10 because she couldn't leave HV & more importantly Elizabeth knew she couldn't leave Nathan because she was in love with Nathan. So, fear still kept her from being with Nathan completely in S11. It was a slow burn Elizabeth & Nathan took it slow. The relationship was transitioning from a solid, strong friendship & connection +love to a solid, strong romance & deep love. It was hard on both of them. Elizabeth was slow because of her fear of being with Nathan, but also because she wasn't sure if Nathan was still in love with her or if Nathan only wanted to be friends. Nathan took it slow because he wasn't sure why Elizabeth broke things off with Lucas & Nathan wasn't sure if he was reading Elizabeth's signals right & Elizabeth wanted more than friendship. I imagine Nathan was also concerned with Elizabeth running away in fear again & Nathan getting hurt all over again. So, with all this it was a gentle, "Love Comes Softly" storyline & romance for Nathan & Elizabeth with all the history/experiences that they had to overcome to become a romantic couple. It took Elizabeth opening her heart to Nathan. Elizabeth realized she had to talk to Nathan about their history together about what happened in the past. Then in S11, episode 11 Elizabeth admitted it was fear that got in the way. Then she gave a beautiful speech & then said, "Nathan, I'm in love with you." & then Nathan came up to her they kissed. Nathan said, "I never stopped loving you not for one second." They kissed again. 💋 ❤ 🔥 😍 Anyways, I'm happy Elizabeth has opened her heart to a second great love. I loved Jack as Elizabeth's first great love & her young love. I will always love Daniel Lissing as Constable Jack Thornton. I love the romantic between Nathan & Elizabeth. Nathan & Elizabeth have great chemistry. Nathan is Elizabeth's next great love & hopefully life time love (nothing happens to N or E & they have a long life) They have a mature love. (E will never have the innocence & ideals she had w/J life changed for E after J's death) But Nathan & Elizabeth have a friendship love (as your lover should be your best friend) a steadfast love, a romantic love, & an unconditional love. All these types of love make it perfect for them to marry & be each others lifetime love. ❤ Elizabeth & Nathan have a mature love. Lucas unfortunately was a safe relationship for Elizabeth & she broke things off with Lucas.....Elizabeth moved on with her great love Nathan. So in S12, I hope for great things for Lucas as governor. I know it may take some time for Lucas to get over Elizabeth however I hope he does & Lucas gets a new girlfriend at some point. 😊

SPOILER ALERT I don't think they will add the rest if the seasons due to so many people not watching since Jack died... I was so sad when he died, I cried for WEEKS. Still sad, but am rewatching and rewatching. Mom bought the rest of the seasons on Amazon Prime so I watch it in there.
