Lovely content bill. Made a change to explore different avenues. I’d of been in that cider place 😆😆😆 left my wife looking round town. Lovely then and now’s too. The old cars in 1 st pic awesome 👍👍👍thanks mate Lovely. God bless you
Hello Bill oh thank you I enjoyed my train ride accompanied by you kind sir . Lovely walk around Newton Abbott . Enjoy the rest of your day see you tomorrow 40 winks maybe ❤😊xx
Thank you Bill, that will indeed be useful.I imagine however that you have to have enough bone to have the studs implanted. Will look forward to your future videos.Take care.
If you don't have enough bone they use bone implant spurs - All part of the procedure, but fortunately I didn't need them. All the medical / surgical / implant side has gone perfectly - Just the teeth themselves were too short... 👍
Union Street ! I was wondering when you'd get around to filming it. The shop next to Serenity, the one with the black canopy used to be my parents newsagency in the late 1980's. It is part of the old police station, there are still the original cells behind the main shop. Directly opposite, the training provider (?) the shop with the double fronted aluminium windows, that used to be Gannet Electrical, I worked there again in the late 1980's - they sold TV's, domestic appliances and all manner of small electricals. It's nice to see that Gunters the watch repairers is still there, although I doubt that Mr Gunter is still alive. If I can remember anything else I'll pop back and add to this post....
Nice information Paul - I should have added that 'Electrowise' on the other side, is where I got the computer that i use to edit and upload all my videos to the channel - I did call it Queen St by mistake at the start though - I was going to add text over the top, correcting myself, but I appear to have forgotten to do that in the edit 👍👍👍
Hi Bill, that was a good trip and hopefully a successful one for you. It's an interesting place Newton Abbott to mooch about. You were there really early so no fries today lol. See you tomorrow mate.
Yes, very early for me, but I think these next teeth will be perfect - No longer have the stress of being desperate after so long without, and I have these to measure against to be able to say 'No, they need to be HERE'... & as you say, nice to mooch about on the path less travelled (By me at least) See yah tomorrow 👍
That made an interesting change along with a positive plan of action to get your toofs right. I wonder if the garage then and now was just post WW1 looking at the cars and the 'peace' sign over the door?😼😺
Not sure about the pic to be honest mate - Its not like I know newton the same way as Teignmouth. - All I had to go on was the address, & the date '1930's' - But yes, solid plan to correct my teeth once and for all, now fully in action 👍
Thanks Susan - Last time I was there it was about 10 years ago with Mum - We went to the 'Beefeater' restaurant - However we didn't like it, as it was very dark inside - Thats back when mum could leave the house easily of course 👍👍👍
I always remember the wimpy bar in Newton, I do miss that . The old cider Bar ,still standing, had one or two in that place , the walk up the hill after isn’t recommended after a visit 😵💫 Andy
Yes, I remember the Wimpy. One of the last remaining Wimpys in the UK if I'm not mistaken? After it closed it became a 'Sim Racing' place but that was right in the middle of Covid, so that's gone now... 👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth I loved the wimpy. Drink in a glass , burger made to order and all put on a proper plate. I think you are right Bill , it was one of the last remaining.
Hi Bill, nice little trip out ( don’t really know Newton just been through on the train on route to Torquay ) Pleased that work on your new teeth is progressing. 🦷🦷🦷🦷. Enjoy your evening. 😊
That's interesting Bill,so I assume rightly or wrongly that the plate or denture is affixed to the roof of the mouth and you can keep it in place long term?
I have had 4 'studs' embedded deep into the bone of my upper jaw. They protrude about 1mm into my mouth - Almost invisible and when the tongue touches them, I barely notice. These affix to 4 anchor points on the 'Horseshoe Shaped' Denture, which only covers the areas of my mouth where the teeth should be - Leaving my upper palette uncovered. Once in, they snap in & lock together rigidly. To take them out for cleaning, I have to pull down and wriggle them - Easy to get out and loose if I am trying to do so, but in normal use, they feel part of me and will not move an inch. When I eventually have my final pair, I intend to do a video showing the 4 sets I have had over time, and how the new sets affix to my implants, so all will be crystal clear then 👍
Hi Bill,so sorry about all the issues on your teeth.I thought you were having implants? It was good to see you in a previous video.Still enjoying the blogs of dear old Teignmouth.Keep well.Doug.
Hi Doug - Yes, I have implants - Just that the 'Denture' that attaches to them, was to high up in my mouth, meaning you couldn't really see my teeth - They are hidden under my top lip! So they are making another set for me, which will be 6mm longer and visible as I talk 👍
A rope walk was where they made rope. I have visited a working one at Hawes in North Yorkshire - unfortunately now closed. I got married on September 1st, 1958.
Would it not be so wonderful if all the stations had a lift for easy access between the platforms and not just Newton and Teignmouth. Bringing them into the 21st century.
Bill's Phone Teignmouth....Today's episode. 'Leaving a good impression'. 😂
😂

Thanks David - Yes, they all look much the same now, with the few remaining chain stores that you see everywhere 👍👍

Thanks Ian - Yes, a few places I haven't filmed before - Always nice to do that 👍
That was very interesting and good to see Newton Abbot racecourse.... I went there in 1973! 😎
Glad your appointment went well.

@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth Ah... Glad you had a memory too!
Beefeaters were dark .....maybe so you couldn't see what you were eating?
It was just the dark atmosphere really - Nice day in the spring, and it was like eating somewhere in the Winter evening! 😂
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth Maybe the Beefeater bosses made it dark for it to be sophisticated!😂

Do you remember the landlord ? Mr Knibbs and his famous handlebar moustache.

And for what it is worth I got married on November 1st 1969
Well at least I can say that I 'existed' on that date 🤣🤣🤣

I could do, but then I wouldn't be getting any exercise though! 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks mate - I was joking about Brunel 👍
@BillsPhoneTeignmouth ah right lol

Yes, accessibly should be higher priority everywhere, in 2024 👍👍👍
