Anyone who experienced the true essence of the 80's would agree that The Outfield embodied every sound and every emotion that the 80's generation represented.
For raw talent and energy, although grossly underrated during that time period, it must be said that they should undoubtedly be recognized as one of the greatest Rock bands of their
generation! I am so fortunate to have been a young man in my teens and twenties during the 80's as most of you were and to have experienced them in their prime
when it was all happening around us!
Cheers Tony and fellas of The Outfield and thanks for the memories we had then and are still able to enjoy today!

"A set of wheels and a cranked up radio." The essence of The Outfield's music. Music doesn't have to be lyrically profound to be classic; sometimes it just needs to stir the soul with perfect melodies and harmonies. Enough to inspire a top down, radio cranked up feel. And with that, The Outfield always delivered, and in spades. This song deserved far more than its #72 peak on the Billboard Hot 100.

GREAT SONG... Going through these is making me nostalgic for the old days... great to see i am not alone still to this day appreciating the great songs and performances these guys gave us all... There was just something special about them... I had enjoyed the recent resurgence of Tony and his presence on the road and social media. Check out his recent solo album if you haven't... it's great... RIP Tony!!!!

I played in a cover band years ago. Outfields 1st album hit. We learned "say it isn't so". The harmonies through out the entire song were a little hard to learn, but we did it...we were a hit.!! No other local band even attempted the outfield..We were the "vocal harmony" band. We learned many more vocal songs "Always been proud of that !!!!..Love you John and Tony..lots of love brothers...RIP !!!

Think I might get lucky tonight
Let my hair down get a little crazy, yeah
    My reflection's doing alright
It don't take nothing to introduce suggestion
Everbody's got one thing on their mind
A set of wheels and a cranked up radio
In this town there might be nowhere to hide
In this town there might be nowhere to go but
On my left - to my right
    This is my paradise
You can call it what you like - I know
    This is my paradise
    I might get lucky again
I got a deal I know won't break me yeah
If I can afford what money can't buy
There's nothing better than a small town lady
I'm no different to the boy next door
A good time's the same for everyone
I don't need another chance to be sure
Since the day I was born I've always felt secure 'cos
Reputation's got a price of its own
But not too many people want to pay for it
Everybody needs a place to come from
Everybody needs a place where they belong
Everybody - this is my paradise

Sad to watch and realize the two lead guys of the band are already gone. Voices of Babylon is my favorite album. Yes, the hits The Outfield had were on earlier albums but I believe this is the most well rounded album they put out.
I used to listen to My Paradise every Friday on my way home from work back in 2012. It was a feel good prelude to the weekend. Miss you John and Tony, thank you for the amazing music! The Outfield deserved way more credit than they got.
